Thinking of long PCX for earnings Tues. Haven't been trading it as doesn't trade as in the past. Used to be a wild and free stock, now just follows standard manipulations, but with lowered estimates after mine fall, thinking maybe a chance. Also, thinking not trade anything else (long) til iwm cross next thurs/fri. Tired of being stopped out. Elle, PCX reports 7/27 .. not sure which Tues you are referring to. phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=216060&p=irol-news&nyo=0

I think they'll kill the dollar into the close and gap up Monday, that's the only reason I'm throwing some longs out there.
Plus I have this weird strategy going on right now that's been working for me. I take big positions in my 401K then hedge with my more liquid accts. For example i was buying dips in my 401K like the flash crash and would hold either 2/3 or 100% long for a month at a time (can only trade every 30 days)
When I'm net long in the 401K but starting to feel bearish I aggressively short in my IRA/trading accts. Right now I'm only 1/3 invested in my 401K so I'll hold some longs over the weekend in my liquid accts - UK's got the stats about how stupid bullish Mondays usually are...
Miners looking pretty good here, accumulated some gold/silver today too

iwm finally broke the line, but like parachuting out of an airplane after it lands as now at good S. Gives way, way almost a dollar drop instantly.

I don't recall seeing a steady grind down like this in a long while. Not big moves just a step down the stairs, on at a time. Absolutely no variation in the tick pattern all day. Spy vol will exceed 200m. We've touched the 38% fib fwiw.

Wait, PCX is 10.90? Wasn't it like 18? I haven't followed it, so please forgive me. They had a roof fall at one of their mines, no injuries and instead of reopen it with compromised safety, they closed it as was scheduled to close 2011. So will lower their earnings, but also operating costs. I'm not sawwy on business, just a guess.

Wait, PCX is 10.90? Wasn't it like 18? I haven't followed it, so please forgive me. We aren't going to burn fossil fuels. That's why Obama was in Michigan yesterday at the ground breaking for the Korean-owned lithium battery company whose demand will be a whopping 1% of the total US automobile fleet and which will add another 50 jobs for $115M taxpayers subsidies as reported earlier this week. www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/14/AR2010071406046.html

It is either going to move down or sideways. There are better places to put money.

Yesterday didn't CCash say to also watch the Aud/Jpy cross for a tell Of all the currency crosses, its correlates best to the S&P as recently as two and half weeks ago when the EUR/JPY exhibited signs of decoupling a little.

So I guess 2.9 months of more down until the next earnings pop. If that's the case, I guess we'll be playing for SPX 900 at this rate. Oh my. Yuk.

You can warm the dinner over the weakly lit lightbulb. And, if you trade it for an easy-bake oven, you can make cakes too!

I can see all the bitter traders are now going to pour their energy into blaming someone else. It's always the same story. Wasted energy.
