Maxi, hate that sinking (literally) feeling. Hmm, (lightbulb) maybe that's why I like the short stocks lately - tho never think of myself as a bear. Doesn't really bother me much when they go down. I just leave and wait.

hey maxi, i have been there and learned how to trade in a bear market back in the late 90's... I too was only a bull and spent hours looking for stocks that would only go up; but when those are scarce you end of chasing and losing in the end think of yourself as a "bullish bear"; identify a stock which is well above a buy signal, and learn that you can make money riding it down to more appropriate levels,, then buy back in; hence you make money on both sides; sure it stinks wishing negative action on a stock, learn to capture gains quicker, especially in markets like this, accept that you will never sell at the right time; adapt a discipline which incorporates selling losses at 7-8%, capture gains above 25%....d/t is a diff monster which simply rides the momo of the markets and capture gains well below 25% so i've accepted a $$ threshold... best wishes n GL

MOS POT and the ags are all down. Been watching BUCY the heavy machinery co. all day it was up but is consistently selling off. Dollar must be up but I have not checked. This business of stocks rising in spite of strong dollar is suspect. I will never BE a bear but i am bearish. Which half the time when I type it comes out bearshit. ;D

Trading volume analysis with charts-- Total trading volume pacing lighter than yesterday's tally with notable decline in NASDAQ (SPY) : Through the first 2.5 hours of trading today, total exchange trading volume is pacing below totals seen at this point yesterday, with notable lack of participation in the relative strength leader NASDAQ thus far. With the indices rebounding from yesterday's sharp, high volume sell-off (broad based bearish distribution), the price/volume pattern relationship thus far does not appear bullish, suggesting limited participation from funds & institutions as the indices recover & bounce. We will continue to watch the development throughout the trading session. However, market breadth on both exchanges remains firm here with advancers outpacing decliners by a wide margin while TRIN levels register bullish readings under 1.0. As of 12:00p.m. ET, nearly 404M shares have changed hands on NYSE vs. 411M yesterday, while over on NASDAQ, 938M shares have turned over vs. 1.02B yesterday.

maxi,
on BUCY, once it hits the top of the BBs, it tends to trade sideways to down, sell once the 5 dma crosses the 10 dma...even tho it still has momo today, the FAST stoch is setting the pace here...additionally, after 9 days of strong accum, you're beginning to see profit taking at these levels...you can sell in thirds and capture any add'l run ups later...

UUP trying to break out of consolidation and close morning gap. How this has played relative to spy and oil has been a mystery for me today.

Retailers are having another strong session. The group is up a collective 1.6% as Macy's (M 19.37, +0.70), Target (TGT 51.02, +0.96), and Sears Holdings (SHLD 95.66, +1.86) provide leadership. The trio made headlines ahead of the previous session with better-than-expected earnings results. Despite that feat SHLD was actually a laggard in the previous session.
