The Fastopia Fantasy Portfolio forum is an area where members can create portfolios of trades or investments they want to track. All portfolios will be available for member and guest comments.
How do I create a Fastopia Fantasy Portfolio (FFP)?
Any member may create as many FFP's as they'd like. To make them easy to view, naming your thread should follow the following general format:
cosmic - The Anti-Cosmic Portfolio, short everything I go long
(Your member name should always be first. This allows for some sorting options )
Once you've created your new thread, you can put a more detailed description or objective of the portfolio, how you will buy and sell (for example real-time vs. delayed), how long you'll track it, and of course close it down when you cash in (cha-ching!)
How do I administer my FFP?
You can create and administer your portfolio in a variety of ways, depending on the complexity and what suits your needs.
You can use a service that provides this feature, such as UpDown or TheLion. When using a service such as this, please be sure to provide a direct link to the portfolio. The service should also allow for guest viewing (i.e. not require an account at the site) to see your portfolio. (I have not used these services and do not know which features are available at each.)
You can also manually make entries and update prices by adding to your thread on a regular interval. This is often the easiest solution when getting started. It's fast and easy to read.
Why have one, or many? I do this already with my software
FFP's are meant to be useful as well as entertaining. Comments will encourage or help various strategies, and can be useful in practicing good trade habits.
I have a question
You can ask questions on this thread.
Note: It will be assumed at all times that the portfolio is a fantasy portfolio, and any loss or gain is purely fictional.
