I guess futures were green a little earlier, I haven't checked yet. So perhaps even with doom everywhere the market will be more resilient.
Or maybe by morning having bought puts at Friday's close for portfolio protection might pay off?
I gotta think bearish on the Japan tragedy unfolding.

I'm voting Bear. Been out since before my mother in law was supposed to have surgery last Tuesday, it got postponed and screwed up our whole week. She went under the knife Friday, and is fine & now here recovering, but I still won't be watching markets closely.

Bulls seem confident and bears seem skeptical
Even with the Japanese market down over 6% and a whole host of global issues, that just seems out of whack, doesn't it? ;D
I think we go down a lot tomorrow and this week as some form of reality sets in that maybe stocks shouldn't have gone up 30% in 6 months.

Bros - you can be bearish all you want. The simple fact remains that what is happening in Japan is both tragic and purely localized. They've taken a hideous hit but it has almost no spillover to the global markets.

I $hit you not, I had typed "selling begets selling" - it was so early in the morning though that the spelling of "begets" didn't look right to me and I was too tired to even put that much thought into it. ;D

hahahahahaha just wait...
You'll stare at words for 20 minutes that you've used all your life wondering if you spelled them right. After that it gets worse... you'll wonder how all those squiggly lines are actually something other people read...
