Not sure tomorrow but I'll bet it won't be what I say lol although the action is certainly interesting. We barely hold all day, a little red, then whoosh all of a sudden selling begins.
Bulls really aren't buying - they know the routine.
I stilll think some selling, but maybe up tomorrow for Monday gap up... no idea, but baby bull.

Fitch Ratings said Wednesday it would put U.S. debt on watch for downgrade in early August in the event that Congress failed to lift the debt ceiling before other measures aimed at avoiding default are exhausted.
The notice follows similar warnings in recent weeks from Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's. The Treasury says Congress must raise the $14.3 trillion debt limit by Aug. 2, the day stopgap measures will have run their course.
More From MarketBeat U.S. Debt Worries China, Oman Debt Ceiling Panic Alert Level: Still Blue .Congressional leaders and administration officials will meet Thursday to continue talks on a deficit-reduction package that both sides say is needed to build political support in Congress for raising the borrowing limit.
People familiar with the talks say that the White House will make a new push to scale back the $4 billion in annual tax breaks for oil companies. Republicans have opposed measures to raise taxes or eliminate tax breaks. But with gasoline prices now high, some GOP leaders have signaled an openness to cutting tax breaks for oil firms.

Its around 95 degrees here I think its time for some ice cream. When you wrote your post, I was eating ice cream at a local creamery! Just got back. Had to reward my boys. Showed them how to change the oil in the Mustang today. Also showed 'em how to clean the carb and pcv valve. Got 'em all greasy and dirty for kicks. Lathered them up with some pumice afterwards. It was fun as hell. They got grease and dirt under their fingernails for the first time. They thought that was the coolest thing. They were so proud when mom got home. So anyways, I told them that one of the perks of working on your car on a nice summer day is that you take her out for a spin that evening when you're all done. It makes the ride that much better when you feel like you had something to do with how good it runs/looks/feels. So we went for a spin and got ice cream. Thank God we didn't break down 'cause that would have been one hell of a buzz kill! LOL... As far as this poll, I'm voting contrarian Big Ass Bear 'cause I really need a Big Ass Bull!

Oh and Tendermyshares found the explanation for those weird drops u are seeing... TOS said they were because of rolling the futures to the next month's contract. Here I copied what he said. It is from the e mini thread. Phew, figured it out -- called TOS -- they switched to the September contract after hours which is 1273 whereas the June contract was 1278. And that's why it shows a big drop but that it's green, as the September contract is actually up from its own close, though down from the June contract close. I'm not sure I should be glad that futures went down 5 points just by switching contracts lol even if they're green. Click Image To View Full Size. So no bots, no fat fingers, just switching contracts -- they say it's 8 days before it expires but whatthefever. They say what we should see quoted on the news tomorrow is the September contract and no longer the June, that it's pretty much an industry standard. I'm working on splaining what I did the last 5yrs after "retiring"gotta fill in the blank someway so I'm thinkin' something like this: "Since separating from the Department of Energy in 2006: - Gutted and rebuilt the house - Restored the vintage sports car and motor cycles - Self-taught Market theory and recouped all expenses (and then some) incurred from the above." Whaddayatink - good enough?

Also built a few birdhouses but didn't think they'd be noteworthy with the kind of "enterprise" I'm submitting my creds to... That chrome piece is from the family's old Philco refrigerator - lol!

no i don't mean funky as in up or down
i mean funky as in there are 4 occurrences of the market moving 1% / 10 SPX points down and then popping immediately back within minutes
i don't watch futures all that closely, but i'm pretty sure that never happens let alone 4 times in one after hours session

Seems that the VIX has not increased much since the sell off began (from 15 to 18). I am a little concerned that if Volatility increases substantially (25-30+), we could see a huge drop in the indices (Flash Crash?). Anyone else concerned?
Best of luck,
