Hey there. I've been trying my hand at FAS options for the past three months. It has been a wild ride to say the least but I have been hanging in there. Being relatively new at the options game, I am constantly looking for insight and knowledge from those who know this game better than a rookie like myself. Up to this point, I have been scouring YMB for other peoples insights only to get the sneaking feeling that there is some sketchy stuff going on over there. BTW, what happened over there to cause everyone to bail?
Anyhow, for now I'll probably be just hanging out and watching and learning. Hope to contribute in the future as my knowledge base increases.
Since being here I have not seen much of the negative type stuff found on YMB so that is a bonus. Good luck to all. Thanks for the resource.

Welcome Mule!
I play FAS options too. Scary chit sometimes.
Of course you're looking for a move. Sideways is slow, painful death.
GS can be a leading indicator of the banks in general. Nasdaq of the broader market. Remember they bottomed well before the March 9 low.
Currently we have this European mess going on. Market still unsettled, as you know.
Dual is the option wizard around here. Cos ain't bad either.
Good luck.

Hey Rich,
Thanks for the welcome. Couldn't agree more about the sideways grind. Time has been kickin my but the past couple of weeks. Lately I find myself jumping in and out to my own detriment. Watching my recent gains getting chewed up while trying to get the timing down. It's all just part of the learning curve I guess. As with most things in life, learning comes with a price tag.
Good to hear someone else thinks this is scary chit. No nutz no glory I guess.
Take care and good luck this week!

Welcome aboard GM Check out the Forum Info & Support area, has some good stuff on getting around Fastopia. In the FAStopia Mercantile Exchange (FME) you'll find a sticky with a jump to our FAQ board. Tons of good stuff in there, amazing arranged by our librarian. I have been playing straddles - mostly long because of the high Vix, but as it settles down, you have to watch for a change. A sharp drop in the Vix still favors the long straddle. A grinding drop (or rise for that matter) in the Vix favors the short straddle. Just jump in

Howdy Cos,
Thanks for the advice on the VIX. Will make considerations for this in future positions. I'm currently in a long strangle, similar I think to the long straddle you mentioned. Hoping to see some good movement this week. The suspense is killing me so to speak.
Thanks again for sharing insight.

Re: "BTW, what happened over there to cause everyone to bail?"
There's no accountability for what one posts on the YMB - there is here...or at least more than what's there.
Welcome GM.

welcome GM. please add to the options ideas on the board. We really dont have enough options talk, and in a market like this, it seems options are the way to make some good fast money!
