Contest Name: The Road To Opex Begins: Monday, March 8, 2010 at 8:00:00am EST
Ends: Friday, March 19, 2010 at 4:00:00pm ESTWho can enter: Open to all members
Prize: Choice of Fastard item from Urban Dictionary www.urbandictionary.com/products.php?defid=3916903
In this contest, you win by executing the best 2-week Swing Trade. The winner is the contestant with the highest portfolio value as of 4:00pm March 19th. Here's how it worksAfter doing your Due Diligence, you place a single trade on Monday, March 8, that you will hold until Opex close. You are provided $50,000 bernankebucks (1 bernankebuck = 1 USD) to start, and you should purchase as many shares as you can for that amount. You must place your trade by 4:00pm on March 8th. More below in the section How to place your trade. Once your trade is executed, that's it! It's a veritable Ron Popiel dream environment... set it, and forget it. You cannot change or modify your trade, and you can only have 1 trade in the contest. On March 19th your portfolio should be revalued based on the official close price published by Google on March 19th. How to place your trade
You will execute your trade by making a post in this thread at some point on Monday March 8th. You will enter your trade in a format similar to: Bought 602 shares of FAS at 83, total 49,966. Bernankebucks 34.00 The price you purchase at must be consistent with the time your post is published. Discrepancies will invalidate your entry. Once you have placed your trade, you may not change it. The forum notes modifications to posts so DO NOT go back and modify your contest entry at any time. If the post is modified it is considered invalid and you will not be able to re-enter. This is critical – there can be no exceptions, so conduct your Due Diligence carefully and enter your trade with confidence. The final winner will be announced on the evening of March 19th. MiscellaneousComments regarding the contest can be posted in the appropriate forum. If you have questions about the contest, please post them in the Hut. The thread will be locked until Monday March 8th at 8:00am. The thread will be cleaned of any posts not making an entry into the contest. The thread will be locked on the evening of Monday March 8th as all entries should be completed by 4pm. Good Luck All Contestants!

16666666 spng at .03. BB= less than $1 Ben, I think .035? .03 was the low on the bid, but would any buy orders fill there? (This one is hard because of the way the b/a works on the bios...)

Yeah I agree, this one is hard because we don't even know what the B/A is on SPNG since it's a Gray Sheet. I had thought about this one last night as well, but wasn't sure how we'd work it.

Have you ever seen Vxx diverge this badly intraday from Vix? No I have not....pretty weird if you ask me...............there are so many confusing signals currently I am puzzled. ........my position is very bear biased and getting killed but to many key levels need to be confirmed or denied before I change positions............... so I am holding them all for now ;D...........GL

Can't believe you outbid my VXX, Ask?!! Though I did consider doing the same to Brosin's APWR...
Is that allowed? That's no fun for me - we could then just outbid each other - I like one unique play per person, no repeats, but that's just me - if I'm outvoted I shall disappear and return to the depths of my current capitulative state.
If you agree w/me on the unique plays, let Ask stick with his VXX and I'll pick off 4,812 shares of DRV at $10.39 - BB remaining $3.32
I'm not seriously mad Ask, it's just a fun M/B game

Are we doing Options as well?? T, After a quick conference, because I speak of "Shares" in the contest rules, that's stocks or etf's only. I'll do a quick chart check and convert Kryptos' entry to shares of FAZ. But I'll drop him a note first.

I see what you mean about the outbidding thing -- you lose immediately if you bought in too early.
I forgot about the game at the time but was busy trying to buy VSTNQ when it was sitting at @ 0.70. Any chance you'd let me choose that as my pick for the game? I'm having trouble watching for the next dip to post a buy cuz I got too much kid stuff going on to stare at the screen all day.

Do we do a few pennies higher and call it an entry?
