Admittedly, I haven't spent much time at the new board. I did sign up and cruise around a little but I am confused about one thing:
Will there be an equivalent to the Mercantile Exchange over there where one can see who's trading/buying/selling under new threads or do you have to go to individual blogs? Not that I'm against change but I like this format where I can read the headings of a thread and then investigate if something interests me.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. PS-- this coming from someone is is "technology-challenged."

Sure birthmark - If you hover over the Member Activity menu you'll see the Group Directory. Join the Trading Floor group and then visit it's forum

Bros or Cos can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the "Trading Floor" group forum is meant to be the equal to the "FME" here in Fastopia.

I found the only way to see all the comments and threads from the groups you become a member in, is if you go under "Dashboard" at the top then click on "Manage Comments". That will take you to a page that lists in chronological order all the comments within the groups you are a member of. Question for Cos/Brian, is this the only way to do this? I agree that I prefer the ProBoards format that pulls up all thread titles and then you can see which one you want to click on and read.

Thank you for the replies. If you hear any cries or screams in cyberspace, that would be me trying to find my way over there.

It looks like the PPDT is set up as an article from the front page. That is extremely useful information to traders so it seems good to put it there where first time visitors can see it, and get some of the flavor of our daily "work ethic" so to speak.

DO we have to become "Member" of each "group" separately? I want to be a member of every group so I can see every discussion. Yay? Nay? Possible?
TIA

I think once the traffic picks up though you may want to narrow it down to the groups you spend the most time in so that you won't have to filter thru all the noise to get to what you want to read. Make sense?

There is a code snippet available that lets you sign up for all groups or a subset at registration. Since I'm still working on the registration and login pages I didn't want to put it in yet, but I can see where it could be useful.
Would that be the type of thing?

Nat, one way to access it with the least number of clicks: 1) On the home page, Hover over "Traders" on the middle nav bar. 2) Drop down appears, click "Pivot Point Daily Thread" 3) This will take you to the PPDT area. 4) Click on the current days PPDT thread. I also see a direct link to the new PPDT thread in the "Rant Finance Bloggers" section a bit further down on the home page. Not sure if it was there earlier today. Not sure if it an automated thing to have it show there as soon as I create the PPDT or not.

Nat,
Yes, I see the link under the "Rant Finance Bloggers" section on the home page also.
I'm just not sure if it automatically goes there when I create the new post or if the Powers That Be (PTB) add it there in the morning.

That "Rant Finance Bloggers" on the homepage is a new feed is something I added last night based on some feedback (from Deadmoney! thanks DM) a couple days ago re: the homepage - thought it was good to put our blogger stuff front and center. That is an RSS feed that shows all our bloggers' most recent posts. Birthmark, the Trading Floor is equivalent to the FME. There's a few ways to get to the Forum view of that forum like the FME is now. You can either click Forum Directory (on the menu bar under "Member Activity) and click on the Trading Floor avatar for a post that's in the Trading Floor (the Forum Directory will show all threads from all group forums), OR you can get to it by clicking to the Trading Floor from a groups perspective: "My Account > Groups" thing on your very top "Admin Bar" OR from the Groups Directory > Trading Floor, it will take you to the Trading Floor activity page where you can click Forum:

It depends if we're talking about Blogger Articles (of which you can comment) OR if we're talking about Forum posts (like Fastopia) where people can reply - think of it as like the difference between the proboards FME (now the Trading Floor) vs if I made a post in my proboards Ramble On Bros area in the Institute (now each blogger has their own page where people can comment) If we're talking the forum, look at my previous post for how to get to a forum view - there's a few ways. If we're talking about *comments* to actual blogger articles, that's something different as you'll see - one way to be able to "sort" it to see that even from the activity screen is: Some people will ways like the Forum View and won't be too vigilant of what's going in articles posted by bloggers and the following discussions. Others will like this activity stream where you can sort it into the different things you want to see sorted by most recent
