From www.optionmonster.com .......................GLTA Futures are catching up with the VIXThe CBOE Volatility Index saw its highest close in more than a month yesterday, completing a record eight straight days of gains. The VIX ended the session up 8.4 percent at 20.39, its highest close since March 6. It was above 21 in the final hour but pulled back as the S&P 500 pushed off its lows and finished at 1358.59, down 1.71 percent. The two indexes usually move inversely. The April VIX futures were up 7.9 percent to 21.15, and the May futures were up 5.6 percent to 22.65. Contango still remains, with the futures out in October and November near 28, but this is the flattest term structure we have seen in months. (See chart below) More than 546,000 VIX options traded yesterday, with calls outpacing puts by more than 2 to 1. The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (VXX) options traded 324,000 times, also with far more calls than puts. The VVIX Index, which measures the implied volatility of the VIX options, was up around 109 to 110 through the day, its highest levels since it was launched on March 14.

S&P not getting above 50dsma so far. Needs to get above it I'm just glad it opened halfway up yesterday's candle. IWM has a long way to go to get to its 50 thanks to GS. UUP down, VIX down, so now we just have to see if the move takes hold. This wouldn't be a bad place to consolidate.

Today's high so far, at the 50dma, was also a 23.6% FIB retrace of this entire down move.
I think I'm going to refer to this recent down move as the '23.6 FIB Free Fall'. That retrace point has been reoccurring again and again.
Get above that for a bit and should see a good short squeeze.

I should've bought RENN on that pullback to 5.86 for a scalp
Nice play Huh? I saw you booked some profits and now waiting for breakout. Smart move. Congrats!

I should've bought RENN on that pullback to 5.86 for a scalp Nice play Huh? I saw you booked some profits and now waiting for breakout. Smart move. Congrats! Just playing the odds. RENN seems to have a pattern of rising big in the morning, and then pulling back. Of course that pattern will die fast when it breaks above the neckline. Well aware that I could get left behind on this one quick, so it's a gamble.
