From www.optionmonster.com ..........................GLTA Russell 2000 leads indexes in big rallyThe major indexes shrugged off a slight increase in jobless claims yesterday and rallied on reports of a possible deal to reduce Greek debt held by private institutions. The S&P 500 took out the previous day's resistance levels while gaining 0.98 percent to close at 1365.91, erasing all of Tuesday's losses while clearing the 1360 support level in place after that big selloff. But the story of the day was the Russell 2000, which gained more than 1.3 percent to finish the session at 806.34. The RUT's previous resistance of 795.95 was taken out with conviction. The Nasdaq 100 fared better than the SPX as well on a percentage basis, leaping 1.12 percent to close at 2637.18. The NDX less than 13 points away from regaining an 11-year high of 2650 reached a week ago. S&P 500Resistance is 1367.63 (yesterday's high), then 1370. Support is 1365, then 1360.11. Nasdaq 100Resistance is 2643.89 (yesterday's high), then 2650. Support is 2636.03, then 2631.77. Russell 2000Resistance is 806.80 (yesterday's high), then 808. Support is 804.61, then 802.

From www.optionmonster.com .............................GLTA S&P 500 facing key technical levelIf the S&P 500 holds today's gains and closes above the 1363 level, it will mark a technical rebound from Tuesday's selloff and a return to a stock picker's market. Price action of the last two sessions will leave us squarely at pre-downturn levels if it holds this afternoon. The SPX opened Tuesday at 1363.63 and closed at 1343.36 after hitting an intraday low of 1340.03. Today the index is up 0.9 percent to 1364.79 at the time of this writing, up more than 12 points on the day. That would break easily surpass the resistance levels noted by Evan McDaniel this morning. And the CBOE Volatility Index is back below the 18 level at 17.90, down 6.14 percent on the day. The VIX and the SPX typically move inversely. Despite the two-day rally, it is wise to guard against over-exuberance as not all stocks are winners. For example, it is interesting to note that Quaker Chemical is down some 5.5 percent even when its seems that the broad-market rally is floating all boats.

It is a good # from a "recovery" stand point also revisions to Jan make the picture a little brighter which in turn could be viewed as negative by some as it reduces the need for QE3 and that would be dollar positive..............I am not going to be around much so I hope you all have a good day and a great weekend............................
