From www.optionmonster.com ......................GLTA Levels unchanged after indexes 'pause'The indexes yesterday digested the previous session's gains in what could be characterized as a "pause" day. The open question now is whether the next move is upward and decisive. Levels remain unchanged, barring adjustments to moving averages. The S&P 500 lost one support level as the 10- and 200-day moving averages have converged. Nasdaq 100 (NDX)Support is at 2316.90, then at its 50-day moving average at 2297.18, and its 10-day moving average at 2286.01. Resistance is a previous pivot high at 2337.70, then at 2343.10, and thereafter at 2359.82. S&P 500 (SPX)Support is at its 10-day moving average at 1259.44, then at its 50-day moving average 1239.34. Resistance is at a previous pivot high at 1277.55, then at 1284.91, and thereafter at 1292.66, the October 2011 pivot high. Russell 2000 (RUT)Support is at 744.41, its 10-day moving average, and then at 735.03. Below that, next support would be at 730.34, its 50-day moving average, and then at 715.09. Resistance remains at a recent pivot high at 752.71, then its 200-day moving average at 762.03, and thereafter at 773.58.

From www.optionmonster.com .......................GLTA Job data dominates economic reportsThe economic calendar is full today and includes important labor reports, as well as retail, service, and oil data. Chain Store Sales, also known as same-store sales, begin early in the pre-market and can continue up to the opening bell. Each company reports its results independently, which can lead to additional price swings in related firms. At 7:30 a.m. ET, the Challenger Job-Cut Report will be released. There are no forecasts for this report, which came in 42,500 in the last reading. A number above 50,000 would likely be seen as bearish, whereas one below 40,000 would probably be seen as bullish. The ADP Employment Report comes out at 8:15 a.m. ET. The consensus forecast calls for 178,000 new private sector jobs, which is close to the government's estimate for private payrolls in tomorrow's Employment Situation Report. Estimates range from a bearish 145,000 to a bullish 225,000. A number that breaks either end of the range would likely produce a much stronger reaction. At 8:30 a.m. ET, the regular weekly Jobless Claims data will be released. The consensus calls for a drop to 375,000 from last week's 381,000. The range is from a more bullish 365,000 to a bearish 385,000. A number below 350,000 would be very bullish, while one that is above 400,000 would be especially bearish. The ISM Non-Manufacturing Index comes out at 10 a.m. ET. The average forecast calls for a drop to 55.4 from last month's 56.2. The range of estimates is from a bearish 53 to a bullish 58. The EIA Petroleum Status Report will be released at 11 a.m. ET. Before the EIA data comes out, the American Petroleum Institute issues a competing report based on its own supply data. The forecast for both reports was for a draw of -0.167 million barrels. But the API release, which came out last night after the market closed, showed a surprise draw of -4.429 million barrels instead. If the EIA data confirms this number or shows an even larger draw, it could be bullish for crude. If instead the draw is smaller or comes in as a positive number, indicating a build, it could be bearish for oil prices. The EIA is a government body, and the API is a private industry group. The two reports do not always agree either in terms of amount or direction.

From www.optionmonster.com .............................GLTA Huge trade makes long-term S&P betAn enormous trade in the S&P 500 Index options is apparently betting on a huge market surge in the next three years. optionMONSTER's systems show that 355,000 SPX options traded yesterday, compared with a daily average volume of 189,000 contracts in the last month. Puts outpaced calls by more than 2 to 1, but the most interesting trade was a large print of deep out-of-the-money calls. A trader bought 9,000 December 2014 2,250 calls for $2. There was no previous open interest in these or almost any other strike in this most-distant SPX expiration. The trade price and the option action indicate that these contracts were most certainly bought. The call buying is looking for the S&P 500 to rise 75 percent in the next 36 months.

The Church of Kopimism, a religion whose central tenet is the free sharing of information, has been formally recognized by the Swedish government.
Kopimists believe all information sharing is “holy” and that the value of information multiplies when it’s shared. They hold CTRL+C and CTRL+V, keyboard shortcuts for copying and pasting, to be sacred symbols of their religion. (We’re not making this stuff up.)
