Running on a "No Bots Trading Markets" platform since 2009 Interesting up day, and a very good day for Bulls to get out and step aside until the market stops gyrating 200 points per day. Obviously THAT'S normal Sensing that bull power couldn't even break 1300 when once 1300 was SO CHEAP GOTTA BUY, makes you wonder doesn't it? It made me wonder enough to buy 2 (wooo!) SPY 130 puts at 1.18 just to see what happens. That's it though. No other trades. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Started a position in KOG at 6.76. Still long EXK, NGD, LULU....I had a pretty big day of paper gains. No sales.

Cos....you definitely proceed with caution eh? Do you ever make any large moves or what are you waiting for? A new direction? QE2 to end? Prawns to stop being ordered 'leaded only'? Tuna to stop glowing from radiation? I on the other hand proceeded without caution today....saw 1300 fail and loaded up the boat with TZA! No dry powder left on that one...Just need $1-$2 to make out like TurboTimmy avoiding taxes! Although I plan on paying

I have such bad luck with options, Belle, that my plays are ridiculously small. That being said, I sometimes have a handful of strikes and positions, but lately my game is off on options so I'm proceeding super cautiously. Since I don't short outright, I can only use proxies like puts or inverse ETF's. The inverse funds are only for shorting(cuz they're scams), so that leaves me with the Put approach.

Good day today - only wish I hadn't been so aggressive in LVS that I had to puke up most of my position over the [ast two weeks. Did 3 LVS scalps. Also, legged $37 and $38 short weekly puts into $40 and $41 short weekly puts. Sold back the extra EWJ shares I bought last week when the world was about to end. Up 4.5% for the day down 16.2% MTD and down 10.6% YTD. The MTD and YTD numbers look worse than they are as I pulled some cash out of the portfolio and paid taxes when I closed my 403b account. Still not exactly a gangbuster year so far.

Yours and D-Man's feelings I'm sure are being echoed at a lot of trading houses as well. The reality is the market is just sloshing funds - straight index plays benefitted the most, and those have now pulled back taking a good piece of the rally with it. If it becomes too difficult to trade with reliable results, they will just sell stuff. It's how it works. How low would they sell it? 805?

FFR was bullish to .15% from .14% overnight and over the weekend, which puts it out of 'stink bid watch' territory and into 'deployment on risk' territory. It was a welcome sign to see the lending markets start to at least try and confirm what the equity market has shown over the past three days. We'll see if it can continue moving higher. My FAZ re-lost some more and it looks like I'll still have a little longer to hold In my real life options acct, after taking last week off, I guess I was bored and added some SPY puts after the gap up. Even with the market moving sideways, the puts were clearly decaying more than the calls. With the weeklies especially, it makes you wonder what the setup is/was. monopoly world / big cap - moved lower and lower all day even with the market going nowhere. There was buying in the "safe" trading names all day. So even with my big gains on the S short, acct was down -2.2% on the day; some moves to shift profits buys: (to cover all) S @ $4.40, $4.44, $4.40, $4.36, $4.32 / +11.6% on the 6x short position; was one of my better trades so wanted to lock in the profits even though I expect it to go much lower. In the monopoly world, I allow myself to short stocks under $5 ;D (to cover all) CMG @ $247.50 / +2.9% on only standard 1x short position; one of the few times the trade works from the first entry (less profits that way) shorts: (add) LNG @ $8.34 / now 6x short position avg $8.36 unrealized +.4% (add) BIDU @ $124.30 / now 2x short position avg $122.98 unrealized -.8% (add) AAPL @ $339.10 / now back to a 7x short position avg $337.57 unrealized -.5% (had covered quite a few shares at $330 and have added them back now 3% higher) (add) NFLX @ $214.70 / now 7.5x short avg $209.24 unrealized -1.7% (add) PCLN @ $455.50 / now 11x short position avg $442.01 unrealized -3.4% I remain 100% short and still close to my acct highs since inception; made a lot on the move from SPX 1345 and am now playing with house money. Like the Sept - Feb rally, this correction is going to be longer than people expect.

You musta not have been reading my posts ?? Over the last 6 months now >/??☺☻¢À¢¼ ?

An ounce of gold buys you about 3 tons of canned pork'n'beans. Build a shelter with the cans. Eat the pork'n'beans. Use the waste gas for fuel. Throw the cans for defense. Besides that load up on a few shotgun shells and miscellaneous weaponry. Gold won't do you much good.

Not so outlandish as you might think...story went around at MIT that one of the students got Budweiser to fill cans w/ water which he then used as a heat sink in between floor joists for thermal mass. ...butt collecting the waste gas might involve some uncomfortable tubing I would think....
