After horrible news over the weekend, a significant gap down, and a subsequent crawl back to almost opening conditions defined a very bizarre trading days. The solar speculators were mostly right. The shorts in general were mostly right. And as expected there is a huge question of whether we say 1290 has held and BTFD or take a more cautious approach. I don't think we can know for sure until 1290 actually gets tested and holds. In the absence of a top down test, we may be seeing bulls preprogrammed to BTFD. No trades today. Winning. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of new and improved smileys!

Oh well, the hangover from Vegas continues. I did more lightening up on LVS as my position continues to burn me. Part of the need for repeated lightening up is caused by the negative gamma on all the short puts I had in my position. I also got hit on the rest of my portfolio - and especially in my Japanese mutual fund - where my position is mercifully a lot smaller than it was a month ago. My YTD gain is now a YTD loss of 10.2% on the portfolio. My dollar loss for the first two weeks of this month now exceeds the dollar gain I made for the whole month of July (percentage number is smaller - but heck the month is only half done). Brutal statistics - but I don't believe in hiding the truth.

Sold 1/3 of my NGD at the end of the day. Raised a little cash to maybe add to LULU plus I just have too much PM exposure between NGD and EXK.

I took a gander at it when you mentioned it the other day Dough. 1.90 area seemed about right for the bounce.

I took a gander at it when you mentioned it the other day Dough. 1.90 area seemed about right for the bounce. for the most part fairly thinly traded it can get pushed around fairly easily they have their fy earnings out tomorrow charts points to $4-$4.50 i like it because of the limited downside VS the upside potential they have good holdings in the Mississippi play and currently are earning not burning

FFR was bearish to .13% from .14% and is now deep in 'deployment on risk' territory. It is deeper than I had ever thought it would get when creating those arbitrary levels... I think we are now in 'Stink Bid Watch' territory. My FAZ unlost and is hopefully working back towards even. I see a few big down days in a row for the market before this correction is said and done - it might be a long time (3-6 months?), but that will be my signal. monopoly world, realtime entries in blog [/url] - acct +2.5% on the day, some moves Buys: (daytrade) GOLD @ $72.63 / would sell @ $73.17 for +.8% (to cover 75%) BKE @ $37.60, $37.30, $37.50 for +1.4% combined Shorts: (add) CHK @ $33.55 (new) CMG @ $255 (new) LNG @ $8.02 & $8.32 I am 99% short, 1% cash

I never really paid that much attention to him, and couldn't watch more than 5 minutes of "2 and a half men." But, this video is so much win. Charlie Sheen pwns the intertubes.
