I feel so silly in the Wraps and Polls with my bearish views but every once in a whie I'm right. I can feel the trend change. It's not necessarily from up to down. But it's NOT up every day anymore. And the moves are larger. Still early on my AIG purchase and looking at possibly more SQNM. But no trades today. Hard to be patient. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

I like the bearish views....it's perfect timing as Commod and I have finally returned! Although I didn't expect the market to continue down into the close....Only down 50 cents on my FAZ short position. I'll be adding more tomorrow!

Held SLV, up about 60% on a small call position.. Prob should have sold, but im still looking for 35 to be the top.. This could happen with a big gap and crap tomorrow in silver, the Long tail red candle is going to be the sign, IMHO USO is a scam! the calls i sold off yesterday are worth less today and the stock is 3%. Intraday it would have made a hell of a call scalp move tho..

Hey bell remember when is said work into a SPY put position a month and a half from jan 1st? I guess that would have been best.. I hope we bounce here, but i think FAS/FAZ are turds this half of the year

Not a happy day for me. Most of the pain was LVS related and is, frankly, bizarre. Macao news was great and then we get this (one hopes BS) news of an SEC investigation. Did one scalp before the 10am plunge. When we got close to down $3 I started buying protective puts like crazy. Ended up scalping a profit on the $42 puts and broke even on the $41s and am left with 300 $40 puts that expire on Friday and now have a net cost of less than $2500. Basically I hope I don't need them. Also bought 30 $44 calls for Friday. So LVS was ugly and the other stocks that I have to maintain the pretense of diversification weren't too pretty either. At least I closed out February with a profit! None too soon as I lost 5% of portfolio value today or more than I made in February. My mother said there would be days like this.

VLNC was up today sold LVS for a 1200 gain but yesterday it was a 6,000 gain. But the name of the game is sell at any gain. right?

i have been sitting on the sidelines for ~2 weeks... only money invested is 4K in CSCO options... anything below 18 would be trouble...
Tried to short VLNC (sorry Sloop) at 1.61 yesterday but TOS didn't have any shares to short...

Savient finished +.04 on the day, which I'm booking as a win given the rest of the market.
Naked shorted some TIVO Mar 9 puts going into the close for the day. TIVO reported earnings after market close. Consensus was that they would miss, so I figured most of the downside was baked in already. I got 0.48/sh for the puts when TIVO was trading around 9.80/sh, putting my break even cost 18 days out at $8.52/sh. Sure enough, TIVO missed on earnings, but after bouncing down to 9.40/sh after hours, it's currently back in the 9.60-9.80 range.

Small position in lvs got hammered (obviously). But the miners rocked--anv, slw, exk all up big. Guys, really looking at $1500 gold on this run, not sure about silver. They could pull these back in the next few days. If so, I'm a buyer.

Sorry, "bear" with me. I had an active day as you will see FFR was bullish to .16% from .15% and is now into "parachutes on watch" territory. This was the first move in 8 days, and it was bullish. Despite being at weak levels, taken at face value this is a good sign for the bulls regarding the Middle East unrest - it still needs to move much higher before I will become bullish again. My FAZ unlost rapidly today - I guess my avg is $45.10 so I've still got a ways to go. More trading in real world than the monopoly world - WOW it had been awhile; looking back through my trading history, the last time I had a day trade was 8/6/10 sold my MNKD @ $3.69 / +6% today to focus on some options trades.. I may get back in... plan with MNKD was to sit with a couple hundred shares and just wait for the day when it doubles up or more (hopefully tomorrow is not that day ) first active trading day in the options world, kind of happened more by accident than planning - was just planning to play with my SPY $133 weekly puts from yesterday @ $.94 and that's it. But LVS looked enticing and I felt it was a good pairs trade at that point in the day when it was trading sub $43 (long LVS / short the market) - sold 1/3 of SPY $133 weekly puts at $1.65 / +75% - bought LVS $43 weekly calls at $1.15 6 as complete spec play - bought LVS $47 weekly calls at $.06 - (maybe sillier) bought 5x that amount of LVS $47 weekly calls @ $.07 [had prev said 'tripled up' but it turns out I went from 5 to 28 contracts].. really just felt LVS had bottomed for the day and was expecting a pop to $45... got part of the way there and I decided to hold - sold remaining SPY $133 weekly puts at $2.17 / +131% - added only a little bit to LVS $43 weekly calls at $1.24 - bought some SPY $131 weekly puts at $.91 (had to put the hedge back on) - bought LVS $45 weekly call for $.36 (yes only one it only partially filled ) - I guess I'm hoping for a gap up! ;D - last but not least, sold half the SPY $131 weekly puts for $1.13 / +24.2 just after the market closed (1st options day trade ever ) Trading Acct gained 38% today - it was new money from last week when I got my tax return. Thanks TurboTimmy! monopoly world - not to be outdone, only the best day since inception Big Cap [/url] - uh so was my acct oversold? As mentioned yesterday, it was the first time my account was lagging the market since inception.. today acct was +$256K / +12.6% (prev best was last Tues which was +$240K); had a massive margin call today that I had to meet buys: (to cover all) ERX @ $82.95 & $83.00 for breakeven / +.1% - yes I am stingy about taking losses even with monopoly money, as you can see by which position I decided to liquidate and when ;D I remain 100% short I still feel very bearish on the overall market (except for LVS I hope )
