I dont see much catalysts for anything today.. but i voted yes ( I am bearish on today, but opposites u know_)
i think we make a hammer today on the chart. so we are stuck in a range right around here today
But if tomorrows jobs are good, that hammer will be uber bullish not bearish

by some wild shot of the dart my prediction in the bull/bear poll that selling would continue in the morning then reverse has played out, so I will stick to a green finish

I believe slightly green today followed by a reversal tomorrow because that is what has happened more often than not following an SPX doji at the end of an uptrend - My thoughts

Actuary, that's backed up well in the charts and I noticed the same pattern every time we touch this general area. Series of doji or spinning candles (that turn out to be spinning tops) and then down.

2 days in a row we gapped down only to put a tail on that candle.
Somebody's buying down there.
The bears need to gather strength. As of yet, too weak to affect substantial change.

red ... we are just as oversold today as yesterday. and no news and the yen and the dollar.. etc etc. Overbought you mean I think Maxi In general I still don't get this overbought theory - if you look at the context of the past couple months as opposed to just a week or 2, we can't be anywhere near as overbought as we were oversold for 2 months

But I am looking at charts. It is not a theory. It is the charts all say overbought. Charts can fail tho. So we will just have to see.

I believe slightly green today followed by a reversal tomorrow because that is what has happened more often than not following an SPX doji at the end of an uptrend - My thoughts If you define a doji as a spinning candle where the difference between the open/close is less than .5, then this is what we have seen since the beginning of the year: Date | Diff | CT | NC | FT | MDA | 02/12 | 0.44 | Down | Green | Up | 50, 100, 10 - 200 | 05/17 | 0.42 | Down | Red | Down | 50, 10, 100 - 200 | 06/17 | 0.06 | Up | Green | Down | 50, 100 - 200, 10 | 07/06 | 0.03 | Down | Green | Up | 100, 200, 50, 10 - | 07/14 | 0.44 | Up | Green | Down | 100, 200 - 50, 10 | 08/05 | 0.03 | Up | Doji | Down | 100 - 200, 10, 50 | 08/06 | 0.43 | Up | Green | Down | 100 - 10, 200, 50 | 09/14 | 0.06 | Up | Green | | -200, 100, 10, 50 |
Where: - CT is Current Trend
- NC is Next Candle
- FT is Future Trend
- MDA is the relative position of the 10, 50, 100 and 200 MDAs (highest to lowest) on that day
- The - sign represents where the doji was relative to the MDAs
While not a lot of data points to rely on, what is interesting is that when the diffence was less than .1 (3 times), the trend reversed immediately thereafter. So for all of us hopefull Bulls - Caveat Emptor...
