Alright everyone let's just keep things in perspective. Let's not go all Carl F on this:
Even stronger than expected from Carl Futia by Carl Futia The ES moved well past the 1070 estimated day session high today on news that came out at 10am. I now think the day session high will be near 1083.
The high volume makes this look like an upside breakout above the 1072.75 high made Sunday night. If so the market will close above its day session midpoint which currently sits at 1069.75.
I think the ES is now headed for 1140 and eventually much higher than that.

Thanks!

Overly fashionably late to the party I see!!! Wow!
fyi I had an e-mail from Cashfilly saying that she believes we've bottomed and that she's long. Of course with CF that could turn on a $dime so be careful!
LOL!!!

I know Sloop has been predicting/demanding this for some time. TodayTrader RT @clusterstock: Obama's September Surprise: A Shock Reversal On Tax Cuts? by @thestalwart read.bi/dfRAiYBaked in today, or a possible future catalyst for more upside?

Only takes a political comment to kill the thread! lol
It has been relatively boring though so far since the first hour. I don't see how much higher we could go today, but it sure doesn't look like it wants to go down...

Spy vol today, for a holiday week in the summer, is pretty good. It will likely crack 200m - not enormous but respectable. I'd expect Spy to pull back and consolidate before moving higher. 107-107.5 is a likely S area. I really like BAC and JPM regaining 13 and 37 respectively. I'd like SMH to stay >25, AKS >13 and TLT <106. In my earlier bullet points I should have mentioned copper. It flagged out for a few days but it never failed to show a strong positive trend during Aug. It leads and unless it is now correlated with something new should be signalling better growth expectations than have been priced into equities. finviz.com/futures_charts.ashx?t=HG

Here's a JJC v Spy chart. Very good. Something has to give, either the relationship is broken or it's catch up time for Spy. chart.ly/bxawu59

Someone grab the other side of SPY and let's give it a jiggle- seems to be stuck.
(Careful, don't let it hit you in the face when it breaks loose!)
