The dollar has descended to a fresh session low against competing currencies, such that it now trades with a 0.7% loss. Despite the greenback's pullback, stocks haven't been able to garner anything more than modest support, which has put the three major indices only slightly above the neutral zone.
Commodities continue to trade with strength, though. In fact, the CRB Commodity Index has extended its gain so that it is now at a fresh session high with a gain of 1.1%.
Treasuries have had a quiet session, thus far. The benchmark 10-year Note has spent most of the session just a few ticks into positive territory. Still, that's been enough to bring the Note's yield closer to 3.60%, which hasn't been touched for about two weeks. found it interesting that higher end/upscale stocks are performing slightly better than discount stocks....ie... TRLG & DLTR

Alright, the VIX is waking up a bit here...
I agree Merrill it's a dull day, the market hasn't been doing it for my ADD today. Might go out and plow soon if this doesn't pick up.
X down from $53.41 HOD to $52.63 over past hour

Will someone please hit the "refresh" button on the market....it appears to be stuck. A little karma for merril for at least keeping the board from dying today.

Good thinking Crumb, just gave Merrill an exalt
All the steel names have neg momo - X, AKS, NUE - the CEO of Nucor Steel was just on CNBC - one of the guys asked, I'm currently short your stock, why should I not be? Haha...
PCX has some neg momo, bounced a bit at $16.5, worth watching
Also considering an AAPL short with more downside momo or solar/mining longs if we break north, to hold into Monday.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

anyone else playing BRCD after the drop? Not playing, but DL is. Large number of options at 6 strike. said on Fast Money last nite. I think this 5.90 will be hard to get thru.

Mikey- some Karamel for you next (when I restock), as you have also contributed much useful info today. Then dog is after that. Then to jack for nominating dog. (Does Costco carry karma?) Miss cash when she's out. UK musta got a better offer too. Thanks to all for what you are teaching me

I've exalted MS for his posts and Mikey for shorting the poop out of the market. I entered my second order for vxx at 26.45 and the stinker took off. While I don't like the DX chart (heading down to the 200dma, it seems), I'll say that the DX is down and the spx is only flat. There's just not a lot to talk about today.

IT - long Palm 6.26. This is a watch list and not the market strategy dude, who seems a bit more discerning in his calls. In the future, ITws for watchlist, ITms for strategist.

Shorted more poop
I think PAAS has had a nice run from $20.0 so I shorted it at $21.52, with silver at $16.5 after heading as low as the mid-14's in early-Feb. I'm holding onto my dollar strength hypothesis, despite this weak day.
Took 1/2 of my X short off at $52.55 on the last dip, otherwise haven't done much today
Hey at least we can play with this karma thing on slow days - thanks all for the exalt's

Nah, that Dimicco guy from Nucor? He just said, eh, the economy sucks, he's a long-term investor, etc - very general response
Wish I could short SPG here at $79.05, but its unavailable to short today. I'm still in disbelief that it continues to climb...
X taking another dip down, I think the dollar's hit its bottom for the day, would like to see it close above $80.4
