Thanks Krypt!
Good Morning, Here is your Merrill Morning Minute: FAS bias this morning, but that may change on a dime as there is no volume. Weak volume, many contributing factors, some leaders are creating bases. Markets still reflect tute participation ‘nil’. The markets have been stuck on an “E” rating for over 15 sessions. Remember we’re still in a correction. Stop your losses at 7%; take gains earlier than you normally would. Bottoms may not have been made. Now, some upward moves have come on paltry volume, so continue to capture short sided gains and don’t sweat a few extra percentage points. GLTA

Morning all. Nice day in the Keys today so I won't be here long. Thanks to K for the marks. I'm glad everyone seems to have made it over here.
Itms - 'not a lot left in this market.' Noted the weak volume rise yesterday as a concern for sustainability of this trend. We are PM at 110.35, an area of high R. They will initiate a 1/3 short here (EDZ 5.35). But be careful as this rise could go on for another week or more. Choppy trading.
Carl - 1088-1102 today. He's bull and give him credit for seeing both the downtrend as well as the rebound.
Oscar - apparently he's bull today. No trading reco yet.
gl to all.

If you want to start a poll daily on the range, you can do that (there's a poll option next to the New thread option). Or just start a traditional thread. If you want something to sticky each day, I'd as that you work with King on the hows and whens and wheres.

If you want something to sticky each day, I'd as that you work with King on the hows and whens and wheres. i'd say just start a new daily thread with the title 2/17/2010 S&P Range by whoever wants to do it daily. if someone is willing to post Daily Pivots & Ranges for S&P ranges to a sticky post and such I'm willing to put up one Sticky a Week or so that you guys can use for the whole week and then i'll undo it at the end of the week. and do a new sticky. but it would need to stay relatively uncluttered minus the ranges and important comments. I guess the question is how useful to everyone will it be? If a lot of people want it and will use it then yes.

Not like WallStreet bonuses;-): Gazillion in bonuses to risk other people's money.

Having a good feel for where the SPX is going would be a good thing imo. That's my entire 401K! I don't trade it very often, but still...
btw "Thanks" dual for that "exalt" thing.

GM all, had a busy morning already.
Sold the only remaining long i my trading account (NYX) at $25.60
Covered 1/2 of my X short at $51.26 on a nice spike down, the other half doing nicely now (below $51). Might cover my other 1/2 now and move it to short that POS we call SPG.
Shorted Deere (DE) due to their inflated stock price today based on top-line data that wasn't that great upon further investigation (revenue by division) - I think its gonna drop hard today. I shorted at $57.45, it's down 20-30 cents since then and has air down to its 50dma at $54.
Still short SPG, TOL, and DDR - and long VXX (blug-a-blug-a under water on that one)
Just went long DRV also at $13.25
So the bear is back...just not for long hopefully.

Mikey, Stopped out SRS pm, but bottom S line is 7.60 area, so I'll try again there. Still feels a little squeezy, which is how they're keeping it lookin' good - but the deal for G could swing either way any time.

tick: ma hit +550 this morning and has been in decline since. Note that we rarely see ticks above 400-500. Still strong: ma = 250 and peaks in high 700s and troughs in -100s-200s.

That's funny UK I just covered my X at $50.7 and just shorted more SPG at $76.53 because I think $76.7 will hold and there is more profit potential in the SPG short. If you look back to early-Jan, SPG closed at $76.6-76.8 several times, it was an area of strong S/R from Jan 7-20 or so. Also, SPG has its 50dma at $75.57 so I'm expecting a re-test of that area.
DE under selling pressure - went as low as $56.6, then came back up to test $57 and failed
VXX just went positive on 5-min MACD, up from $29.0 to $29.6 in past half hour and just back-tested $29.3 and held.
Feeling short-term bearish here - we now have two gaps to the downside within striking distance...
