(Filling in for Cos as he will be out until later) Cosmic was dead on in the poll about opex - seems like most ended opex Friday unhappy as usual. Congrats go to Jack - his birthday ended up being an extra happy one as he is our Road To Opex III Winner!! The market was up 1.3% this week, but the most significant thing to me was that the S&P made a new 4 month high today (1131.47 vs 1131.23 on 6/21) prior to this Tuesday's FOMC meeting. Should Tuesday arrive before we get higher than that, it has still broken the streak of 2 straight lower FOMC highs. While the past 3 meetings have seen a market high *1* day before the meeting, 2 days before (should today's high not get broken Monday or Tuesday) is still fascinatingly close. I would also like to thank everyone who participated in the eCard for our friend Dualism and his wife; it is things like this that constantly remind me of how special Fastopia is. This is not just a trading board. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Quiet day. As I expected LVS got pinned to the $32 strike but I managed to give away $2k of my $4k potential on the $32 straddle by panicking and buying it back early in the day. Wrote some October $32 puts. Net on the day is flat - maybe down $3k when the mutual funds report.

As for me... Real Life:Fed Funds Rate held the .21% move and was level overnight. This is a good first step. FAS got yet a little less green today, but #11 is upon me Fantasy World: Big Cap Growth -1.8% on the day with 1 entry in CLF ($61.85) Scalp Trading +1.2% with realized gains in BP, RIG, CLF, and RIMM - unrealized 1.7% loss on HPQ right now Options Trading -10% on the day, as I had a realized 72% loss playing $113 SPY Sept calls. Holding some short $113 SPY Oct calls which are green for now. Total Net Worth of all the fantasy accounts decreased by 1.3% today, +2.8% since 9/7 inceptions.

Bad trading day..
lost about 20%. Greed and stupidity coupled with a slow broker and taking care of a child are just not conducive to making money on options..
but i will try again and learn to stop being greedy and consider all sides of the trade

Well another Opex and another day of getting whipsawed. I was down some 500 bucks for the week.
The action appears to be in Greece and Ireland where the CDS are in parabolic mode. Might be time to short the Euro here and cover in the 126/127 area??? Does someone know something? We will see....
Traders, have a wonderful weekend. I hope everyone made a bundle today and hopefully will make even more next week.

Decided to buy some SDS when the market was rising (Dow was at about 22) thinking the market it would go back to the unchanged level. Sold it afterhours for small profit. Shares of SDS seemed to be getting snatched up. I had a limit order in for 500 shares to sell and they all sold at once and then the price continued to go a little higher after that. I have been net short and feel like I need to scalp some each day if I can. Doing OK at that lately.

We are over 1120 which is bullish but still unable to crack above 1130s. Id like to see the market pullback a lil bit to the 1100/1115s and then surge into 1250s by election time. ;D

Another flat day here, but up 2.5% for the week, mostly due to gold/silver and the miners, slw and others. Have a great week-end all and let's hope that next week brings some stronger direction to the UPside. ;D ;D

Got shanked (actually just pricked) on my whopping 2 ARNA JAN $1 Calls. Little HTS made some nice gains, and the b*tch PCX is being just that. Softened on that one selling SEP 12 calls for .13 a few days ago, still UW about $.50. Still about 80% cash.
Saw that KBK made an appearance on the bd, sent him a PM and he replied he is hanging in OK.

ouch, Taj. I think next week we will all do better. I hope. Thanks Rich... CTIC calls were dead once the approval was denied couple of months ago, since then they had no premium left.. I will wait for a week and then I will start active trading again.. had a very quiet month ... On 15th of every month, i take out a pre defined amount from the day trading account to a conservative account and for the second time since Feb 2009 I had a negative cash flow i.e. realized profits were less than pre defined amount.. First time it happened in Jan 2010, when I was about to retire from day trading..... Let's see what's in store for us in Oct.. GYTLA..
