I admit I missed the close... was it exciting? Looks like typical opex action here, not sure what to think about tomorrow. Bulls may give some back, but I don't think it will be much. Hard to say. No trades today, going to enjoy watching ARNA after hours after they didn't get an FDA thumbs up. I have 1 call contract lol. Tomorrow ends our Road to Opex III contest and it looks like we have a few clear leaders to choose from. I look forward to seeing the finals. Once again, I suck at these. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Quiet day - I think once my mutual funds report I'll be down $10k. Did one little scalp on LVS - apart from that I'm just watching time decay for tomorrow's OPEX. Looks like LVS is pinned to $32.

Real Life: Fed Funds Rate showed bullish explosion to .21% from .19% - I tabulated some stats which are posted in the Charts and Chats thread as to the other rare occurances where we saw .02% moves. The only other 2 times the market showed no immediate reaction with a strong up day were strangely enough also on Thursdays - the market would go down strongly the following Fridays and then roar higher to even new highs the following Monday / following week. Will be interesting if that happens again. I'm just a full out bull until further notice as I won't try to catch a 1 day down move. My green FAS made a 10th showing even if it didn't want to get any greener today ****if you have not signed the card for Mrs. Dualism and would like to, please get on it - card autosends at 4 pm ET tomorrow at market's close**** In the fantasy world: I opened up the 3rd of my 4 planned simulated portfolios (last one to come is the Small and Mid Cap growth) and toyed around a little bit in there. [4% of total "net worth"] Options Trading Portfolio saw some beginners luck as my only realized trade was for +35% on short $112 SPY Sept puts. I had 2 entries on short $113 SPY Oct calls which I will hope to see a pop on tomorrow should it be a red day. A good start in there even if it was a small position. It was my "first" experience writing an option, even if it was a simulation. I'm excited to learn that game. [77% of total "net worth"](Google Spreadsheet) Big Cap Growth Portfolio was up 1.5% on the day and is up 4.2% since inception (beating market by 2.2% so far). [19% of total "net worth"] Scalp Trading Portfolio saw 3 trades today and ended the day +2%, leaving a long RIG position open overnight (even). The other 2 trades saw 1% gains in HPQ and RIMM. That account is up 5.2% overall since inception. In total, my fantasy investments started with $1.3MM (9/7/10). Currently worth $1.35MM (4.1% gain)

Lots of trades-long and short and in typical opex fashion, I literally made NO money. Hope to make some cash Friday and I hope everyone made boatloads of dough and will continue to do so.

day off here (t/th are light or no trading days).. Just admired the 5 bagger in AAPL 250 sept calls from the beggining of the month to OPEX.. kind of beautiful in its simplicity, it did the same thing in july only quicker... But how many gaps can go into a chart before it starts to crumble.. I will buy puts when we find out, or just ride some calls ST.. deep thoughts haha GL ALL

Swing trades for my retirement account. Two buys of nano at 12.86 & 12.77 today. Early august i bought in two trades at 12.30 & 12.90, selling late august at 13.84 & 14.51.
Last quarter oppenhiemer trash-talked the companies relationship w/Intel, and had their gonads handed back to them in the quarterly conference call. I anticipate a strong quarter and will sell some into a pre-earnings runup. I see tonight a cramer mention where he is bullish.
Also bought 1100 shrs MVIS at 12.15, reestablishing a position piecemeal, still trending down. Everything else in cash still.

Shorted CRM again for a $1 per share gain today. Trying to make up for some SDS I have held too long.

Lost 1K with aapl $270 putts. I bought at 10 am for 1.28. The big mistake was I should have sold when they hit $1 instead of .30.
Well aapl did the opposite of what I thought it would do. It always seems when I trade puts with it that I loose money.
Anyhow aapl broke out today with above adverage volume. It has been trading in a box with $266 as the top. The next high was $272.46. The next resistance should be #279.01 which is the 52 week high for the stock.
I almost bought the $270 calls this morning and I wish I would have.
Or I wish I would have bought the $270 puts and calls.
Anyway, I am all cash right now in my trading account.
I did make a profit on my TZA and CRUS trade today but not enough to offset the losses.

Sold my OREX position 15 minutes before it decided to go ballistic. Made a mild profit, but still in awe of how high it went. Increased my position in my high risk/high reward OTC play - ACTC. It's been stuck at .069 for weeks. Something will give soon...
