Here some good news: I'm going to Tahoe this weekend. The last two times I went to Tahoe were March 3-6 2009 and for the fourth of July this year, both bottoms before strong rallies. Next week should be banner. Double like this. Only green for me today was euo, up a little over 1%. It stinks to see all of Friday's gains washed away by the bots. Enjoy Tahoe, uk. ;D

Stopped out of fas TWICE for a loss of 2% today; I am real disappointed that we didnt see any follow thru from friday. I got a headache now so it is time to lick my wounds. I agree, in the Bull/Bear last night I thought today would be a show of strength. Very wimpy indeed. I am starting to believe, regardless of whether I want to or not, that this market is cooked for a while. Thus leaving any equity position in it is dangerous.[/quote Well I hope I dont get burned again but I added Tna, Fas, and Drn in AH for turnaround tuesday.

A number of things I'm looking at: VIX is high - it could go higher - if that's the case you want to be in long puts, long calls (under certain conditions), and long straddles if you're unsure. If the VIX starts going lower from these altitudes, it's going to be difficult to make money on the long option side as a declining VIX tends to favor option writers who are shorting TP out. The March/April peak pushed a lot of premium into stocks where we're at now and it's still there and they're still sucking it out, and that is causing depressed pricing, loss of liquidity, and a number of other factors. I just do not understand why the entire market needs to be controlled by algos. If they set them to buy, no amount of shorting works. If they set them to sell, no amount of buying works. It is simply ridiculous. It's as if the guy running the roulette wheel looks at where all the money is, and then puts his hand on the wheel and stops the ball where the most people lose, every time. Agree. I have always thought that, but it seems to be even more true now. It's almost as if nobody's trading but the algo's....they're taking over

Well have fun Uk. Never been to Tahoe. Isn't that where Fredo (Michael Corleone's brother) is residing "with the fishs"? The mansion is called fleur du lac. We stay just south of there. There's a nearby pier and beach. The water is so clear that you can see to a depth of 70'. Everyone should visit Sand Harbor at some point, probably one of the most beautiful and unique coastlines in the world.

An LA architect buddy of mine was in the final stages of designing a sustainably based resort complex there before the bottom fell out 2-3yrs ago (again). Bummer

Not sure if the same tactic for lions works, but I heard that if you collect the s_it from your pants as it will surely appear after coming across one by mistake, and throw it at the beast - he'll leave you alone. "No s_it!"....well yes it is but you know what I mean.

It'll be quite the headfake if the algos don't buy at 1040 as they did Friday.

No trades....just watched the slow grind down. Caught a snippet on Bloomie that today was one of the lowest (if not lowest) volume days on the NYSE for the year...just caught it in passing, so could be wrong.

when i saw so many bulls here last night (baby and large i thought to myself... even though i voted baby bull, it's gonna be a bear day i'll betcha... was very surprised to see futures red in the morning after being so up during the night, so bought some BGZ this morning at not the greatest price as I was kinda waiting to see which way the wind was blowing, and sold at the close so made a few dollars. didn't hold, too uncertain. GL to all. blue

No trades for me today. Haven't looked at the action yet, but after reading a few headlines, it looks nasty! In any case, It's late and I just woke up. Came down with a nasty head cold...won't be around tomorrow either, but GLTA! Hope everyone can take their gains when they have them! Still holding DRV from $29...limit sell in place at $31+! Goodnight all
