Minuscule bull, minuscule bear, not sure exactly what that close was, but by the rules of the poll, we go by the Dow so it was a minuscule bear. Very opexy. No trades today however I continue to watch MPG closely, some interesting chart patterns on it. I posted the chart in the Institute for my trade update, you can see it by clicking here: MVIS is starting to look interesting again, may nibble soon I think, we'll see how it plays out. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Another inconclusive day on the Dow. Somehow, most of my stocks managed to go up. And my big LVS position made money. Lightened up a bit on my long LVS stock position - and also wrote some Aug $27 puts aug $28 puts and Aug $29 calls - playing the OPEX pin game.

Almost broke even today on 2 roundtrips in FAS (lost $10 total) but learned something...I think.
Cashfilly explained what she meant by selling on the close a dime higher than the tape:
...from PPDT: "Put In a limit sell for extended hours a dime higher than u think she will close and within the next sixty seconds of the close u can usually get filled...it all depends on the strength of the market...I've done that for much more profit on a really strong day...and if she is weak I've gotten screwed....had to learn that trick the hard way....lol."

lots of good trades can be had at the close....and good buys too Yeah...but that's a procedural tactic I sure as hell didn't know about and hope others here can take advantage of it (when the Market is strong). ;D

No doubt FAS will head back up sooner or later Oh, no trades, just got home. Finished a sizable job and taking off the rest of the week. So I'll get to see what you guys do during the daytime

Next time you have any surgery: Remember this the next time you have major surgery and need a blood transfusion!! This is good to know!! Australian Medical Association researchers have found that patients needing blood transfusions may benefit from receiving chicken blood rather than human blood. It tends to make the men cocky and the women lay better.... Just thought you'd like to know. BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO ARE CRACKED, FOR THEY ARE THE ONES WHO LET IN THE LIGHT! OK, I'll be going to my room now

Had an okay soybean short. The reason only okay was because I got stopped out, then got back short again. So had to make up the loss, but ended up with a "day's pay" gain. Wish I had been short wheat though! GL to all blue

Flipped FAS Aug 21st $22 Covered Calls for $0.31. One set of FAS shares unhedged. The rest hedged with FAS Aug 21st $20 Calls and $21 Calls, hoping for more theta burn and then either sell the shares outright in the next rally or sell Sept calls.

Nice Taj - saw ATEC coming back today. Did you ever avg down on it? thanks Bro -- its just luck no talent.. I wanted to average down but couldn't.. Yeah that's ok though - sometimes the avg downs on these types of plays are what can put someone in a big hole. I've been there before. You'll probably end up way ahead if you wait all this noise out. Only about 10% more to go right (I think around $2.55?)? You'll be ok - GL buddy Oh and by the way, Ask2 is on vacation this week I believe.

Unlost some change on HTS. Bought 1K JAZZ at 10.35, sold 10 AUG covered calls at 1.36. If I get called, $1K profit, if not, basis is $9 (Karma to Cos for pointing out the premium on the calls)

thanks Bro, I didn't knew Ask2 is on vacation this week.
My ATEC entry price is 2.61 -- this position represents a small % of the portfolio, I am not that worried..

Another day off -sitting out the session... Looks like it was a market bottom/reversal confirming and consolidating somewhat flat portfolio up session with techs showing greater underlying strength overall.... I would consider today's session to be a bottom/reversal confirmation day... Looking at NASDAQ -I expect techs now beaten down to follow through as one of the leaders on Tuesday and for several sessions... I as well expect to see Airlines break out and subsequently the Transports to assume the primary leadership role... ---All this upward bullishness potentially fueled by the Euro moving back up after its recent retrace/consolidation which I think has painted an interim bottom/reversal as seen looking at the FXE That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Hope all did well!!! ;D ;D ;D
