Reporting in from the outskirts of Headache-ville. I haven't watched the action since 2pm or so, but will assume we closed pretty much where we were then, a few points down either way. I added some calls, September deep ITM for KSS anticipating back-to-school. Added some BAC calls, not very thrilled. If BAC was 19 not that long ago, it seems pretty cheap at 14 eh? Guess not. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Member, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Basically a nothing day for me - down $1-2K. Gains on LVS were offset by losses elsewhere. Scalped LVS again and sold some Aug 21 puts - tried to sell some Aug 31 calls just before the close but didn't get filled. I traded ineptly today with a mild hangover - pulled the trigger too soon on scalping, misclicked and bought puts instead of selling, then chased the price as I reversed the error - not my best day - sloppy.

My day consited of setting up 3 coverdell accounts for my kids. They are in cash right now.
In the AM I bought aapl weekly $260 calls for $3.25.
I missed selling them at $4.25 when I went to lunch at work. That would have been a 33% gain.
Bought some fas aug $25 calls for 0.88.
Bought some SWKS at 17.9 this AM.
I didn't want to use up my daytrades I have as my others will not be availble until friday so I put on a straddle position with aapl by buying $260 weekly puts for $1.66 since holding weekly's overnight is really dangerous.
Game plan for tommorro is to buy aapl $250 weekly's on any large dip.
Also might look at CRUS on a dip.

But take a look at that chart, it wont be that low for long. I am buying again when I see the S&P volume pick up. at 14 and change you cant go wrong.....take a look at that chart, its a matter of a few days IMO. How far out are your options? I really should not have sold, but I have gained so much in two weeks I don't want to give a little dollar back. My account is looking so much better and I cant bear to see it so depleted ever again. So I find my self jumping ship at the least little bump in the night. And thats JUST the way to find yourself with a nice lost chance. I feel like I'm trading on a razor's edge.

This is what I need to learn.
“After spending many years in Wall Street and after making and losing millions of dollars I want to tell you this: It never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It always was my sitting.”

No trading today as I was at hospital with mother in law for a minor procedure - she is well & here resting. I wouldn't have traded anyway as the market acted pretty much as I expected when I voted Baby Bear my first time in the poll!!!

Yeah - I'm on the waiting list for a mother-in-lawectomy Oh i did this wrong before - but I'll ask again - an "ectomy" usually removes the part mass, lump or appendage...which of those is she?!?

Still sitting on short FAS position. May cover before AH closes. Not sure yet.
Finally, my IRA account trades settled today and will be available tomorrow. Anyone know a good brokerage for IRA that allows free riding? LOL

No trades, working.
Checked out some of the smart phones. I think I'm going to get one so I can trade at work.
The new Blackberry is going to AT&T whereas the older ones are at sprint (where I've been since the early years, lol).
Also checked out the i-phone and the evo.
I-phone seems to be the best except stories of crappy reception and no physical keyboard.

We used them on the NEST running down the odd terrorist nuclear bomb here and there and they still do. Its why the UAE and the Saudi's are banning them (they can't monitor them).

Got some aapl 260 weekly calls in the morning at 3.20 and then some more at 2.45. I had put them all on sale for 4.50 and stepped out for few minutes to take a call and it touched 4.35 and came back down. Finally got rid of them all at 3.30 at the end of day. It was a large position and did not want to hold it over night, it being weekly calls.

Another session I did not watch. I was doing some more "sitting" as the quote from Jesse Livermore posted by Sloop refers to... Anyway, today's action looks like backtest to me... It was a market down portfolio up just a wee bit session from my perspective. Looking at the Light Crude Oil Daily Chart it looks like a short term confirmed breakout with BP & XOM participating -in my opinion, oil should see a short term rally continue up to around the 86.00ish level THEN I would reevaluate as far as longer term prospects going forward... I remain all in and remain bullish! Hope all did well!!!! ;D ;D ;D

My day consited of setting up 3 coverdell accounts for my kids. They are in cash right now. Anyone knows if there is an educational account that allows stock trading/investing.. Its called a coverdell educational ira. It is like a roth ira except you have to use the money for educational expenses. It has a 2k limit on contributions for the year. You are allowed to trade options, stock, bonds, mutual funds, ect. Income restrictions apply.
