Green Arrow still confirms the 6th sequential, and we did get a close above 1101... barely. Will most likely buy a dip tomorrow. Sold my HTS puts. Nice gain. Just a little over 100%. Sold my QQQQ calls at 19% loss - this was a very small position. Sold my MPG at 3.06-3.04, this was a 14% gain on a very large position. All said, good outweighed bad. ;D I re-hedged my LVS puts which are still taking a drubbing, but thanks to Demanuel he picked a very nice strike and timing on some calls. Kudos! I was looking before I saw your post, and you confirmed my need to re-hedge. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Bad trading day for me. Bought AAPL $260 weekly calls for $3 then market tanked. Under water on those calls by 70%.
Still holding them until tomorrow to hopefully get some of my money back.
Bought small position in GS $150 weekly calls at EOD. This might come back to bite me though.

Rode the FAZ up through 1/2 the day and bailed out near the top... then everything went the other way almost back to where it started... don't ask me why the FAZ didn't keep going... magic hope pixie dust from the bulls I guess. I gotta give it to them though, they managed to claw back above 1100... by a dollar and change....

Sold 1/2 my ARNA at the close $6.97 for a whopping 99.14% on that lot of shares. YA BABY!!! The other half I bought at a higher price point so I am only up a measily 27%. I'm thinking the shorts are getting antsy on this as more and more retail investors are finding out about this one and buying it and it's causing the big $$ to work harder which I believe is why you've seen such silly crazy volume #'s lately. My bio expert is telling me the squeeze started today once we crossed $6.65, great, now she tells me after I dumped 1/2.. lol JK, I'm happy as a clam right now.
Also bought some DRV which I sold like 15 minutes later and then bought some FAS a,t I think it was $22.40. Anyway, I'm a little worried from seeing the action in the 10 yr drop back below 3% but that partly was due to the reaction after the 7 yr auction today. Melt up to continue tomorrow! I feel so dirty.. lol
GL!

Bit of a nothing day for me - up less than $10k (my portfolio bounces around like crazy these days). Did a tiny scalp of LVS stock. Started getting worried about my negative gamma on my short LVS options. So I bought a few August $29 calls. All in all, pretty inept trading from me - a sign I either need to take a break or need to reevaluate my position - had a long run up since 4th of July and a timeout makes sense.

Interesting that you are focused on portfolio Gamma at this point. With Aug opex still 2 weeks away, I thought you may be more focused on portfolio Delta. And if you're long LVS shares and short puts, largely, with some short calls, shouldn't the overall delta be positive?

And if you're long LVS shares and short puts, largely, with some short calls, shouldn't the overall delta be positive? I was being terse. I am most certainly positive delta right now. Long quite a lot of stock, short a boatload of Aug and Sep puts. Also short some Aug $28 calls and today bought some $29 calls. Because the puts are now ALL out of the money, my delta has declined quite a bit. Today I was contemplating my delta declining more if the stock price kept zooming up - and that is why I bought the $29 calls. I'm trying to juggle waiting for Aug expiration with hanging in with good upside delta if the stock keeps movin on up.

Experienced some technical difficulties with my "trading platform" (Cell phone ) but emerged relatively unscathed. Tried to buy SOXL with a market order @ $32.27, and received "Communication error - verify network connectivity and try again" I didn't try again, though ~1hr later I get email confirmation - filled @$33.07! Attempted to sell it @ $34.03 - got another error message. ~30 minutes later got an email - Sold @ $33.38 Trading via phone has a few unique risks and is perhaps a bit unwise. Luckily nobody has ever accused me of being wise. ;D

No trades...had a sell on a covered call on PCX (13 AUG) that did not fill...missed by a few pennies. Still essentially flat on that purchase at 12.29.

Yikes! I don't use market orders at the best of times. If I want immediate execution on a buy, I'll put in a limit order a few cents above the current ask. Sounds like you need to do something like that with your mobile trading desk.

I use both an Iphone and a Palm Pre, and it works great on both. Good luck, sowolf-

wow poorhomey.. looks like you placed market orders in instead of limit orders. Yes, these were market orders. 99% of the time they execute within a couple of seconds at the current bid or ask - even with SOXL/S which sometimes have wide spreads and low volume. In this case it appeared the order was never sent as it never appeared in my open orders. Then it executed about 45 minutes later. At least I got out with a small gain - So far no losing trades on SOXL/S.

Another day off from the markets today -looks like tomorrow will be the same -maybe I will catch the open and the latter part of the session if all goes as planned... Hmmm... --it looks like it was a consolidating market down portfolio down session with techs and specifically semiconductors getting a little bear spanking. My gut feeling is that semiconductors put in an interim bottom this session and they go up from here -we shall see. Anyway, those pesky bears need to hibernate already... I remain all in bullishly. Considering the leader, Transports, it looks like maybe consolidation nears an end ---Friday could be a very bullish session Hope all did well!!!! ;D ;D ;D

If u hadn't noticed it went to close its prior tuesday gap today.. Sorry to hear about your loss. Try and get out tomorrow if u can!
