Such a beautiful day of red it brings tears to my eyes. Tears of Joy and Happiness that the machine has decided, at least temporarily, to not blow itself apart at the seams. This is a bad day for sure depending on how you were positioned and how late you got into the game. But in the scheme of things - namely 5 months of pretty much up without a break, it's a token nod to the bears that indeed there may be a little over-reach. What the bears will do with it is a completely different movie. No trades today. No BTFD for me yet. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

FFR was level at .15% - at face value, I'd say that favors the bulls. If it does not deteriorate further, I'd say it even more favors the bulls. It is still in the "Deployment on risk" level, which by itself remains dangerous imo My FAZ unlost quite a bit as it sliced my unrealized losses in half (avg still $9.02).. MNKD was slightly red Going to look at some options tonight as to what -- if anything -- I'll be wanting to add in my IRA with all the cash I freed up last week monopoly world big cap - best day since 9/7/10 inception by far (>30% better than prev best day), acct +11.2% a few moves Shorts: (new) SLW @ $40.30 (new) BIDU @ $122.70 (add) CLF @ $94.75 / avg now $87.30 unrealized -6.2% on 11x short position (new) BKE $39.50 (add) CHK $31.85 / avg now $30.02 avg -6.6% on 3x short position (thank god I covered 80% of what was a 7 short position a few sessions ago @ $30... would've gotten crushed on it today) (new) ERX @ $80.50 Buys: (add) DRV @ $15.21 / avg now $18.39 unrealized -17.2% on 13x "long" position (to cover all) SLW @ $39 / +3.3% (day trade from earlier in the day) I remain 100% short (no need to do the "all in all, accounts were X%" anymore since I only have one monopoly account now)

A brutal day of course. Losses across the board. I doubled down on BPZ. Sold off a net amount of 5k LVS shares to conserve cash and avoid margin calls. Did write some April $45 puts and then bought quite a few Friday $47 and $45 calls pretty darn cheaply to jack up my delta and gamma. I could be wrong and we could be in a tailspin but I'm thinking Qaddafy bites the bullet in a couple of days and we come back strong. Down about 4.5% on the day UP 1.3% MTD and 5.1% YTD. Not planning a panic sale of my Equus.

My employer reported earnings today.. A few weeks ago, we got a memo letting us know that our cash balance retirement plan was being discontinued, and that the company would no longer be providing retiree health benefits. (On the bright side, I officially became 100% vested in the cash balance plan on the 20th of this month) I guess it's nice to see that 1st quarter 2011 guidance "includes a benefit of 4 cents per share from a change in it's employee benefit plans."
