What a screwy whacky day. Up Down left right all directions were taken by the makers today. I found it difficult to comprehend let alone trade. I picked up a few shares of LVS today with a plan to sell some calls early next week. No other trades. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so Tuesday. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of new and improved smileys!

So for this week I've had 2 scalps. Plain vanilla FAS buy/sell for a $220 gain Buy FAS/sell calls for a $180 gain Looking forward to next week, but will be very busy with work. Hopefully can squeeze in a couple of scalps again.

Well I got the bull that move today that I think was key to maintaining the Dow move to 14k. Sadly my portfolio did not participate. I only saw the first hour as I was on the road for most of the day. Looks like I gave back slightly less than 1.5% of the portfolio. Still up 6% MTD and 10% YTD. Overall a great week and I'm looking for it te be evn better next week.

Another month, another opex.
A couple days ago, I closed out my short SVNT Feb 11 puts for 1.15/share, after selling to open Mar 11 puts for $2.00/share the previous week. So, I lost .10/share on the Feb 11 puts but am already up .50/sh on the Mar 11 puts.
Today, my short SVNT Feb 11 calls will expire out of the money, netting .25/sh. My short SVNT Feb 9 puts will expire out of the money, netting .28/sh. I am short Feb 10 puts which I sold for .47/sh. According to the printed close, SVNT closed at 9.98, so these are in the money by .02, but I don't know how much I'll end up getting assigned. In all, I'm up on options but down on the stock, and am up 86% since last April. High water mark was up 88% on Jan. 10th, so I'm a little down from there, but flat and near the high water mark sounds pretty good to me right now after SVNT bottomed a little over 9.00 a couple of weeks ago.

Sold URZ at 4.94 for +22% Sold URG at 2.93 for +2% Sold CXZ at 2.19 for + 7% Sold DNN Calls at .48 for +37% Sold UEC at 6.05 for + 9% Sold AVL at 7.63 for +16% Sold TLR at 1.08 for +4% Sold UURAF at 1.1329 for +45%
Still holding AXU, SD, MDW, MGH, GMO, URRE, and BQI. And UEC in my IRA Most of these are down slightly, except LLEN which is down big
Got spooked by the huge plunge in the uranium stocks on Friday. Took what remained of gains while they were there. The SPX was up, but the U sell off cut my profits by a third. Still don’t know what happened to make them drop so much. Makes me think something is wrong with these speculative plays. Maybe a signal the market is looking for safety. Didn’t want to be holding too much over a long weekend. Maybe V will be right again, and the market is ready to turn.
My plan for next week is to buy silver stocks. Looking at EXK, PAAS, SIVR, SLV, SLW, SSRI, SVM, USV. But all the silver miner stocks look good.

Thanks Clinton
Started trading in January after selling a house and putting some of the equity into a trading account. Need to keep the ball rolling.
There is lots of speculation about a turning point here, seems something goofy is happening with the PMs and oil up so much, and the REEs and Uranium down so much Friday. Someone is looking for safety and getting out of risky stocks. Was late to the party for the U stocks, and it seems late for the PMs for this cycle. But strength is strength. Maybe a better plan to have a more short term outlook. hours and days instead of days and weeks. Seems like there is volatility coming. Watching for a direction, hoping to make some money on it.
