The rally moved forth with a purposeful stride today as the big caps took the leading role on the back of top end earnings growth. Small caps took the cue and made a move of their own. I'm still holding FAS calls. I sold my spy puts this morning and promptly bought spy calls. I am holding overnight. There is really no reason for the rally to stop, is there? All I've heard is analysts upgrades on AAPL, the SPX and the GDP. There has been little if any negative economic news. Disney after the bell. You know they're going to beat. I'm going with the Johnny Cochran trading plan Everyone chime in and give me a reason why this market can't possibly go higher. RDA of smileys, of course

Theres no reason we dont go to 1400 promptly, only caution is spy above its bb on the daily or 2 std. devs above 20 dma.. but lets be honest these arcane signals dont really mean anything

Is it last Saturday already? Man I'm having deja vu feelings - again! Another quiet day as I continue to tiptoe around margin calls until the cash moves out of my 403b. Did buy another 1k LVS shares and wrote some Friday $48 puts. That's all the trades. Watched BYD put on a stellar performance for the day - nice. Another roughly +0.5% day.

I've been away for a few days, came back to find MGM finding some life and PWER continuing its toilet bowl spiral. Hoping to start escrow very soon on this house, because three weeks of mindless trading -- especially during earnings -- has wiped out my profits since Dec. BOL everyone!

What a silly day it was today.. my heart was in the stock market but my mind was not.
Try to short SOXL, trade got rejected. Call CSR, they indicated they don't have enough stocks available to short.
Wanted to short LVS at 48.83, instead bought them by mistake. Realized mistake right away as only partial order got filled when pps was 48.9... i sold all of shares at 48.86..
shorted Feb2 CSCO 21 puts for 24 cents, then good fastopian friend reminded me that CSCO report today. closed the position at 21 cents..
I was really lucky to end up profitable from two silly trades. profit of around $700 ..GLYTA.

Taj do you mean $46s instead of $48s for LVS? I was confused and had to check the dates here
Rich also truly filled in for Cos today as the date on here 2/5/11 - may have been better if you put 2/5/10 ;D

Bought GMO at 5.57
The Uranium stocks (my main holdings lately) have been consolidating for the past week, but energy and mining and Uranium too have been in an uptrend for the past 5 months. Check the U ETF, NLR for the uptrend. Was looking at UCU.V and TLR near eod, but didn't act. UCU pulled back, will watch for an entry around .75 TLR looks good right around here at 1.18
Sold EEE for 86% gain. Thanks to whoever mentioned it back in early Jan. Don't know why it went up so much.
Still rooting for LLEN to reach b/e. Would rather be in an REE stock or Uranium or mining co. like TLR.

The RSI on spy is only like 75..we need to get into the high 80's to consider a down day lol
holding LVS calls, watching them decay like a little kid with a sweet tooth teeth when his parent dont have dental insurance.. hah..
I think we gap up tomorrow or thursday in LVS 47 seems to be shorters paradise, we just need to break that level to get some traction.
Holding 2 LNG calls..man i never used BB's before and now that Exabi brought them up i will never again buy a stock that just hit and pushed out of its upper BB..LNG Feb4 is a good example when not go buy a stock.. ah well the stock is still bull flggin
Will be trading tomorro.. gettn my mojo back but will it be to late?

Rich, thanks for the wrap today I read Taj's first post and ran to look at LVS up in the 48's because I would have had to sell calls at the open tomorrow. Got a good shot of adrenaline from it, I'll say that. No trades today, however I put a limit order in for some SNSS south of here just a wee bit maybe for another try at $1.

We are not apparently getting the input in the Bull Bear Poll like we used to anymore. If this keeps up I suggest it be combined with the Daily Wrap here.

Jack I saw your post in the bull/bear thread as well - what do you mean by that ('not getting the input')?
Do you mean the number of voters is not as high as you'd like, or that people should be explaining their daily calls better? In any event, the poll has gone through its ups and downs as to how many people vote. But I don't see the point in changing the tradition. Especially not as I approach the 1 year anniversary of tracking it! ;D

And btw, I had not posted last night for some reason (thought that I had)
I had no moves yesterday and had the market run away from me some more so that my margin call / negative buying power is getting to be a bit much. Still have my eye on the 1330 level as my mental capitulation zone, as that would still have me ahead of the market since 9/7/10 inception. So far today things are going better for the account though and I'm hopeful the margin call will go away on its own here by tomorrow.
