Looks like Cos is napping - and I don't blame him seeing the action today! The most notable thing that I saw today was a further falling $VIX, but one that did not make a new low from Tuesday. I still don't feel very bullish here, but it looks like I missed a few opportunities to post a few new "Where's the Drop" episodes. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys.

every time I wanted to go long, Bros and Cos got in my head. every time I wanted to go short, Clinton got in my head. ahh ok maybe that's the secret - my head's filled with nothing but a lot of hot air!!!

sometimes I make a trade and then get so mad at myself.
I get ahead of myself, I need to sit back and check out the terrain.

4% drop in HGSI when Cowen initiated coverage at underperform. Looked bottomish to me at $24, so I sold short some Dec 24 puts for 0.54/share. I'm long the stock with Apr. 26 covered calls.
Cosmic is gaining on me big time with IRE vs. my OREX in Road to Opex. I have to admit, I like his odds here a lot. Still, it looks like OREX is finding a level here around $8.50-$8.60, and so far I'm in the lead by around 5%. It all depends on whether IRE has more legs, or whether it's topping out for now.

CISCO was up so was my portfolio..
I am a real fan of TOS customer service..
I had two trades entered yesterday to sell 100 Dec 20 contracts - total 200 contracts .. call covered.. 100 against 10K shares and 100 against 100 long position..
I *thought* one of these trades was good for DAY and other one was GTC.. none of the trades got executed yesterday and I *think* i saw an expiry message of the ticket last night.
Today morning, both these contracts were executed.. I didn't monitor AM activity and contracts were executed well below the market value.. I called TOS CSR and explained that one of the ticket should have expired yesterday.. the call was escalated to Trade Review team and the gentleman called back to inform me know that one of trade is busted.. they absorbed the cost as market didn't bust this trade.. their cost close to $1100.. Well that's what I call customer service.. they might have been right all along... i was going by my recollection.. their system indicated both trades were GTC.. so it the end it was my word versus their system.. and they took my word.. speaks volume..

The worst happened of course. I sold ONP yesterday. Well it was the bottom. The company finally came out with reassuring news. And the stock flew up 90 cents. I have a creepy feeling it will keep going tomorrow but I will wait and see if I want to mess with it. (yes I am thinking about it) Bought URRE. TGB sorta wanted to move then stalled. Now green finally. PHM made a nice move (for it) At least I am green in it. Still watching IRE not sure what to think of it. HAL is a hold. I have a good profit and a good cushion from the first hal trade. Watched BAC go up without me all day long.

It's scary how well you know me Bros. Was off in napland.
So while one of my high fliers gave back 6% on no news whatsoever, the funniest thing I ever saw was every stock in my trading account was green except one, all my options were green (not necessarily profitable yet green on today's action.)
I honestly don't know what to do. It's such a weird thing to see.

Real LifeFFR was level at .17% - it remains deep in the "get your parachute ready" levels and .01% off the "deployment on risk" level; in that sense, it was good that it did not drop further today. With the market holding up fine the past few days though, we would want to see the FFR confirm by moving back up. This divergence typically doesn't end well for the equity market. My FAS was nicely green; I have decided that I am not going to lighten up at $26.50/$27 - should it run towards $28-$29, that will be the next area for me to consider. Monopoly World / real time entries tracked in my blog Big Cap pulled back after hitting a new high at the close yesterday. Acct was -2.5% on the day. Decent amount of action as I went from 43% long at the open today to 33% long by the close Sells: All CSCO @ $19.65 / +2.8% All CHK @ $22.82 / +3.5% All LVS @ $47.20 / +2.7% All GS @ $166.75 / +2.7% All GGB @ $13.10 / +2% All YOKU @ $38.80 / +18% (on now only 2 trades, this IPO made me a amount) All V @ $78.36 / +3.1% All DANG @ $32.10 / +10.7% (same as YOKU to a little lesser degree) Buys: (add) CYOU @ $28.43 -- now 2x long position avg $28.98 / -3.4% LEDS @ $25.25 -- standard 1 unit long / unrealized +2% BONA @ $7.20 & $6.60 -- 2x / unrealized -4.4% Shorts: Added IRE $2.97 & $3.05 -- now a *12x* short position avg $2.74 / -10.9% as big as the position it, it is now approaching danger zone levels for me as my unrealized loss is >$100K; I had previously locked in over $40K on the long side, so it is not the end of the world. But I will continue to hold for now even though my finger is more on the trigger than it has ever been on a losing position... shows my confidence or lack thereof in being able to play the volatility of this company Allocation now 33% long, 67% short scalp trades - I held my FAZ purchased yesterday into the ground today; I pulled my stop yesterday at -1.5%. It is now -5.4%... account was -9.3% on the day BTFD on brosin? img560.imageshack.us/img560/5553/scalptradesasof120910.pngMy performance in this account has lacked lately as far as keeping to the strategy... so in a way, I deserved today in here; got complacent and have been holding positions for big swings. I am still holding FAZ overnight Options Acct - taking a bath in here on my SPY $124 weekly puts... account was -17.1% on the day Holding unrealized -53.4% / -$96K loss on those puts w avg of $1.03 ... deja vu of last week where I get lucky again on Friday? Or do I actually take the bath this time... All in all, accounts were -6.6% on the day... may have been my worst day since inception... BUT tomorrow is another day ;D

But I will continue to hold for now even though my finger is more on the trigger than it has ever been on a losing position... shows my confidence or lack thereof in being able to play the volatility of this company The second time I wiped out in Real Life was when I shorted CMGI back in 1999. I was right about the trade - it eventually fell all the way from $1300 to <$1 over the next three years - but my timing was off by 6 months or so and I got margined out near the top. The third time I wiped out in Real Life was when I shorted AMZN around $10 in 2002. That time, I was just flat-out wrong and AMZN is all the way up to around $180 now. I learned two lessons from these trades: 1). Sometimes it's good to take your losses and move on. No one is right all the time, and even when you're right, it might take years for the market to catch up to you. 2). Never risk your whole stack on one trade. You can be right 90% of the time, but if you wipe out on one trade, it doesn't matter if you were right about all the others.
