Tended to my IWM garden all day and basically ended up in a neutral position AFTER THE BELL when all the 'hidden' trades suddenly got processed to push the index down... AFTER THE BELL. But of course that's all legal, just some Vorgonese Administrivia here, nothing to see move along. I didn't adjust the position and no other trades, although I wanted to buy that dip but just didn't trust it being Opex. Contest 4 Road To Opex 4 Results:1st Prize 1/10th oz. Platinum coin Papasloth 2nd Prize 1/10th oz. Gold coin Cosmic 3rd Prize 1 oz. Silver coin Birthmark 4th Prize Fastopia Collectible Jack 5th Prize Fastopia Collectible Steel (all awards subject to final audit by the contest committee)A hardy Thank You to all who played Road To Opex 4! Hope everyone made some money today and will do so on Monday. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Congrats to Contest #4 winners.. I had a lot of option position expiring today.. - CSCO 20 covered calls --expired worthless -- lowered by long position to under 20 dollars
- LVS 45 covered calls -- should be exercised and stock taken away -- decent % return, got the shares around 43.x, sold 45 calls for 66 cents.. realized profit of more than $200 profit per 100 shares/ 1 contract
- V 67.5 covered calls --- b/e 66.75, covered calls expired worthless (profit of 77 cents), sold all shares in AH - decent one day % return
- BIDU 97/98 long call spread.. - looking good for 25% -- it was scary towards the end as pps bounced right at 98.. realized profit of 25%..
Only position i have now is CSCO long shares.

LDK: Naked short Dec 10 puts - will expire out of the money, netting 0.47/sh. Sold short LDK Jan 10 Put 0.77/sh.
HGSI: Short HGSI Dec 24 Puts, sold for .54/sh. I am also long HGSI stock at an adjusted cost per share of 21.91. These puts are slightly in the money, so rather than paying the spread to buy-to-cover the puts, I sold the stock for $23.91/sh. After the puts are assigned, I'll own the same amount of stock at an adjusted cost/wash sale adjust of 21.46. I also sold short HGSI Jan 24 Puts for 1.33/sh. Still holding short Apr. 26 calls, currently up 1.04/sh.
SVNT: Naked short Dec 11 Puts - will expire out of the money, netting 0.85/sh Naked short Dec 12 Puts - slightly in the money, sold for 1.47/sh, will take assignment of SVNT stock at an adjusted cost of 10.53/sh Naked short Dec 15 Call - will expire out of the money, netting 0.45/sh Still holding short Jan 11 Puts, currently up 0.13/sh Still long the stock, steadily working off my red position with these options sales. Next month, I should be break even if the stock stays above 11.
OREX: Up 1/10oz platinum, woohoo!

Real LifeFFR was level at .20% - having started the week at .16% in "deployment on risk" levels, to end the week now *well* into "all clear" territory for the bulls is a very strong sign by itself. After showing completely contrary to the equity action for the two weeks before this one, it seems to have reversed and is now confirming it. I am torn now, however, because in general I feel bearish - although when I say bearish, I should really describe it as an absence of bullishness more than anything else since I do of course believe the multi-year trend is up. Still waiting and watching FAS for re-entry, but I think I should just sit back for a bit; it's very possible the FAS sell was my last move of the year. Monopoly World / real time entries in my blog - only 1 move all day in any of the accounts as I was busy and opex Friday was uneventful Big Cap - good day, +2% thanks almost fully due to my way too big BKE short position, no moves... account did hit a new closing high since 9/7 inception I am 39% long, 58% short, 3% cash scalp trades - slight down day -1.6%, no moves... still holding FAZ BTFD on me? More looks like the bottom is about to fall out (tracks potential buying power [incl margin], not account value) img146.imageshack.us/img146/4504/scalptradesasof121710.pngeven if FAZ goes green, this account will hit new highs, but I am failing in this portion of the experiment as I haven't stuck to the strategy at all for the past 1.5 months... I just want out but think I will get green eventually (unrealized -4.2% still) Options Acct - down day -4.7%, only move of the day bought very speculative SPY Jan $120 put position - I was attracted to the volume there... other than that still holding big SPY Jan $126 put position avg $3.50 unrealized -10.3% All in all, accounts were +.5% on the day

Well after 9-11, the security in the building is so steep that I could never get back in again and the Boss would probably think I was a traitor ( as opposed to trader ) and never invite me back. Ok then, Ill keep the job, go on vacation, and spoil my parents rotten. NO more mortgages and credit cards for my parents and Ill pay off my sisters credit cards too!

I bought 30k shares positions ATM and got filled in the low 13s on Dec 10, 2010. Havent sold yet. I figure we could get another push higher because of the high short interest in this baby; plus mutual fund monday I bought a few other biotechs that day so I spread myself a lil thin. had I put it all on Itmn, Id really be sitting pretty; but you just cant tell you know. I couldve bought Options and been a billionaire but I couldnt risk decay

Havent sold yet. I figure we could get another push higher because of the high short interest in this baby; plus mutual fund monday If it were me, I'd sell 300 Jan 30 calls first thing Monday for $6.40ish. If the stock closes above 30 on Jan options expiration, you net 36.40/sh minus 13ish, for around 700K profit. On the other hand, if it closes below 30, at least you've locked in 192K gain... I hesitate to offer advice though, since you clearly know what you're doing

Please please don't reinvest and lose even a fraction of the gains.. be smart with your money.. i know you will.. speak to a CPA and be creative to avoid taxes.. you don't want to pay 200K in taxes...

But IF we open up a dedicated string for a FAStopian Hall of Fame I recommend that some criteria be established: The trader adequately presents the issue with justification or basis beforehand to the community would be a major consideration imo...like deroth who presented it did a week ago. What do yall think of this idea my fellow citizens? Shall we start a new line of thought here dedicated to making a lotta dough for as many who want to listen? The notion is that you present your idea and defend it. Now for the deafening silence to follow on this subject....lol!

lol Jack, we can create anything You all come up with the rules ;D Yehhhhh...agree - pretty naive on my part I wrestled w/ the issue w/ my CNL which has done me well. It was months before I brought it up on the Board even though it had its IPO reverse merger in April. Problem was that it took me several months (and by that time it had already tripled) for me to actually believe it - I think I was in shock all that time.) ...and it was only last month when I learned of my position's size - knowing that made it very real to me. In any event I am firmly convinced that its going to a MINIMUM of 17-18/shr by the time its bought out by a major miner and that's still almost a double from here. And it'll prolly be more like 25! And here's why according to my partner's latest analysis: "I have reanalyzed the published driling reports at Burritica and have revised my back of the envelope estimate of total resource to a conservative 9M oz of gold to a maximum of 18M oz of gold in the ground. This Burritica result combined with the 3-5M oz deposit at Berlin brings the total for CNL to range of 12-23M oz, not including the other 4 projects in the portfolio (estimated to be 2-4M oz combined). "The new results once released should increase the indicated reserves to 12-23M oz of gold valued at $1.7-3.3B or $17-32/share thus reaching my original estimate of at least $15/share by March 2011. This should be confirmed by these second and third phases of drilling data to be completed and reported by the June timeframe or before. One might expect a 18-25/share value by March. These reserves are so large that a number of major mining companies have already bid to buy out the company (at about $10/sh when it was listed at $7/sh) but with the new results and competition it could drive the price up to the $20-25/share range or greater. There are not many deposits with 10-20M oz of gold so this is a "super" deposit and will demand a premium price on a buy-out. So I would expect a buy-out by a Major (mining company) sometime before June 2011."

DeManuel, That was a wonderful trade. There some major players manipulating LVS in 2008/09, I bet youll never figure out who? I was scared to death of that because these players were wiping people out for kicks and that was so scary to witness.
