(Filling in for Cos) And it went up! I've been very busy today and haven't had a chance to do much looking under the hood, so I don't want to even pretend I know what I'm talking about with today's action! I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving holiday with their family and friends! We in Fastopia (and in the good old U.S. of A) have so much for which to be thankful. Hope everyone made some money and will do so Friday and next week. Regulars, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys.

Started buying back FAZ that I sold Monday/Tuesday and now holding 4,000 FAS (red) and 4,000 FAZ (green) and while I don't care which way the market goes, I would prefer up so I can start unloading some of the FAS and add to my FAZ.
Decided to part with 50% of my MVIS holdings at $1.32 and then it goes to $1.42 - Oh well - Based on what I'm holding, it now has to go to $8+ for me to break even - I'm willing to hold what I have for the chance to break even, even-though I may lose 50% to 100%.
Bought some more of my favorite spec - ZTHO - Volume has been picking up lately and who knows, maybe Santa's coming soon.
I hope everyone has a great T-Day and that you are able to share it with those you love - Fondly, Dave

Did it close at $6.20 Taj? I see $6.05
I was looking closer at the UNG vs FCG charts today - the only way I see UNG as better is from the liquidity standpoint

Unrealized gain since yesterday: $149K

14 years my word jack how did you stand that It was insolvent - if I even wanted to sell my position I would not have been able to - it only went public this April. But to answer your question...I had given up on the dream of it years ago...until April 2010 that is. And when I found out the size of my position in it only a couple wks ago I've been on "Cloud 9" ever since. This is a once in a lifetime thing of that there is no doubt. LOL!

You make for an impossible act to follow Jack!! But I need to get my post done so here goes LOL Real Life Did want to mention that I started looking at FCG for entry points - I believe it may be the nat gas exposure many are looking for as it is an etf made up of the big nat gas names. Whereas UNG is tied to the actual nat gas prices and faces large contango risk when they have to roll large numbers of contracts over every month, FCG is tied to the companies. FFR was bullish to .20% from .19% - following a sharp bearish move of .21% to .19% early yesterday morning that confirmed negative news out of Korea and Europe AND a strongly red market day yesterday, I find this quite reassuring. *If* it holds up here for awhile, I think it is a strong sign. My FAS was green and 1/3 of my penny "plays" remains in play (so I have to keep mentioning those soon enough, I'll be able to go back to letting SPNGQQQQQQQQQQ and gang rest in peace) Monopoly World Big Cap - strong day here, +3.1%. Only a couple moves -sold 1/3 of my SOL @ $9.71 for 5.3%, still a 2x long position from $9.22 -with those funds, bought IRE @ $1.65 I am 68% long, 32% short, 0% cash Scalp Trades[/u] - no moves, this was probably the only decision I really made today was holding onto these positions (I am playing this money way out of strategy, now about a week long hold - should be only day trading...) - acct +7% on the day RIMM & FAS were both pretty green - unrealized -4.1% and +3.7% respectively Options Acct - no moves, still all cash. Don't have a good feel one way or the other. Realized yesterday that my options acct is worth more than half of my Big Cap's value with its strong performance. I might move money out of it because I would never want to have that much of my personal allocation in options. All in all, accounts were +3.8% on the day

Jack, that's awesome. Maybe buy-and-hold really does work I still own the first stock I ever bought, 25 years ago. Unfortunately, it went to zero in the early 90's, and it won't be coming back. I'd clear it out for the tax loss, but I honestly don't even remember how much I bought it for. One of many expensive lessons that I've learned along the way: revenues really are important.

To be fair to UNG though, nat gas futures look closer to the UNG price chart than the others. So it isn't doing something unexpected.

what do you think of 5.50 for nat gas by jan 1st
|

Post by brosin on Nov 24, 2010 20:38:40 GMT -5
I really got no clue - the nat gas long term chart looks like FAZ It's only a matter of time - my CHK bets hope the time is now of course... but time will tell. It's gotta be the cheapest commodity out there, right? So as far as longer term asset speculation goes, if one assumes oil is going to go up quite a bit regardless of what happens, nat gas has to go with it. Large supply or not, nat gas will always be an alternative. The more expensive oil gets, the more likely it is that nat gas demand goes up.

Excellent Job Jack..
If 12% movement equates to $150K profit, wow, you have a very decent size portfolio and very large position in CNL (more than $1,500,000).. Congrats again.
Bros, UNG touched 6.2 today (HOD) but closed at 6.05
