Bought a few CSCO calls today both the 19 and 20 Dec calls so we'll see bow badly I screw these up. Action felt like OPEX and voilà it's OPEX! Looking at some MPG maybe next week but want to watch it a little more. No other trades. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so on Monday. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys

CSCO? I still don't know what happened to trigger the sell off especially to near a 52 week low. Seems kind of strange. The action has burned a lot of call value.
I may pick some shares up in my long term account starting here for a hold. Will sell calls against the position to lower the basis maybe I can get the basis to 16 that way.

Options expiration, so a busy day for me.
HGSI I talked about this position a lot a couple of days ago. Naked short Nov. 23 Put - Sold for $3.185/sh, will expire out of the money, 3.185/sh profit. Naked short Nov. 24 Put - Sold for $3.4/sh, will expire out of the money, 3.4/sh profit Naked short Nov. 25 Put - Sold for $3.1/sh. HGSI is trading at $24.20 now, so these have a true value of 0.80/sh, leaving 2.30/sh profit. I'm going to take assignment of these shares, giving me a long position, which I will probably sell calls against next week.
HL - Naked short Nov. 9 Call - Sold for 0.30/sh. Will expire out of the money, 0.30/sh profit.
LDK Naked Short Nov 13 Call - Sold for 0.41/sh, will expire out of the money, 0.41/sh profit. Naked Short Nov 11 Put - Sold for 0.68/sh, will expire out of the money, 0.68/sh profit. Naked Short Nov 14 Put - Sold for 1.38/sh. These are in the money, and while I like LDK here, I don't want to take assignment of the stock this month at $14/sh. I would have sold short LDK today, and let the short position get put away over the weekend, but there are no shares available to short at TD Ameritrade, so I bought Nov 12 Puts for 0.83/share instead. Then, I sold 2.2X Dec 12 Puts for $1.33/sh. Net-net, I'm down this month around -0.36/sh overall.
MBI - Naked short Nov 13 Call - Sold for 0.84/sh, will expire out of the money, 0.84/sh profit.
SVNT Still long SVNT at an average price of $17.20/sh, offset by some short calls to around $15.97/sh. Covered Nov. 15 Call - Sold for $0.11/sh, will expire out of the money, reducing my effective cost to $15.86/sh. Naked short Nov. 11 Put (.5X position) - Sold for 0.40/sh, will expire out of the money, reducing my effective cost to $15.66/sh. I'm also holding: Naked short Dec. 11 Put (.5X position) - Sold for 0.86/sh, if it expires out of the money in December, my effective cost will be reduced to $15.23/sh. Naked short Dec. 12 Put (.5X position) - Sold for 1.48/sh, if it expires out of the money in December, my effective cost will be reduced to $14.49/sh. So, today I added to this position by writing 1X Dec 15 calls to replace the expiring 1X Nov 15 calls for 0.45/sh. If they expire out of the money, I'll be down to $14.04/sh.
TGB Naked short Nov 7.5 Call - Sold for 0.21/sh, will expire out of the money, 0.21/sh profit. Naked short Nov 4 Put - Sold for 0.20/sh, will expire out of the money, 0.20/sh profit. Naked short Nov 6 Put - Sold for 0.29/sh, these are in the money, and while I like TGB here, there's not enough implied volatility right now to keep playing it. It's also only around 1/4 my usual position size, and I don't feel strongly enough about it at the current price, $4.62, to roll over my naked put position. So, I closed it out for 1.40/sh, giving me a net loss of around 0.70/sh. If TGB drops to $4.30ish, I'll look at selling Dec 4 Puts, but that's it for now.
So, overall a good month, mostly because of the exceptionally large HGSI position.

Funny, HGSI has been trading flat at 24.20 all day, and now it's trading at 25. So, my naked short Nov 25's are looking even more tasty right now. I wonder if the people who bought the other side will decide to exercise or not?

papa, most probably buyer would have decided to exercise as they only have up to 4:30 to inform the broker.. Thanks, Taj. Funny how Fast Money on CNBC picks 5:30 on options expiration day to re-hype HGSI, two days after their 13-2 panel approval vote. It would almost look suspicious, if it wasn't so incredibly obvious Good thing I was expecting it. Hope to get a good premium for my covered calls next week.

Another good day. LVS was up strong and I scalped it like crazy. Nov options expired and a bunch of other stuff was up too - SKX, BPZ lots of cats and dogs were up. Up almost $30k today - still down over $70k for the week and almost $60K for the month. No big whoop - I've had my humiliation for the quarter.

Long day at work today, glad for a weekend here Real LifeFFR was level - it was up strongly on the week; if you would've told me last week we'd close this week at .20%, I'd have been shocked. We will see what next week brings! My FAS was even Monopoly World / real time entries tracked in the blog Big Cap - no moves, very good day +3.7%, close at new high +48.8%, beating mkt by 40.3% ALLOCATIONS LONG 78% SHORT 20% CASH 2% Scalp Trades - no moves, +2.2% as RIMM was up nicely while FAS was level. Holding into the weekend Options Acct was -1.2% today, which was the highlight of my day as I got pretty trapped in the SPY $120 Nov options that I played as a spec; I learned my lesson as I usually play in the money and longer dated options than those. I worked today so I just left those spy puts gather up some strength. I should have sold them. Now I'm holding them going into mutual fund monday. Good grief.
