Caught a little of the action this morning but missed the close. Looks like the markets handled the elections pretty well. Maybe there's thinking that the tax situation will stay the same based on the results of the election. I have to admit here in S. Florida we didn't have a lot of great choices, however the most exciting thing will be if some of the incumbents - regardless of party - end up taking the hit for the last few years. I'm thinking they probably will. Need to go read the MVIS Green Arrow thread, saw they got clobbered yesterday. No trades, and still holding. I did not do a sweep today of longer term accounts, but am ready at any moment. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Again, very happy with the FAS/FAZ trade! Sold 2,000 FAS that I bought over the last 2 days for a $700 scalp Bought 1,000 FAZ back at $12.39 that I sold yesterday at $12.65 Am currently holding 1,000/2,000 FAS/FAZ both green.
Still somewhat numbed by the MVIS situation - Sold some for a loss today - Not sure what to do with the rest - Any advice posted or pm'ed would be appreciated.
BTW Joe, I don't want to hear, "Numb, Numb, Numb, Numb, ..."
Feeling a little down now as my son returned to Versailles today to resume his teaching duties - To me, there is only 1 thing better in this world than having friends - Having friends who are also your kids.
Wishing the best to everyone and looking forward to rubbing elbows tomorrow - Dave

I had the opportunity to vote for Krystal Ball today as my new congresswoman....you know, vote out the incumbents......I just couldn't do it. BTW, she's the one with the Santa hat, playing with Rudolf's nose: www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/krystal-ball-racy-party-photosShe would give new meaning to democratic Party ;D

Managed to trade my way out of a huge up day by unloading LVS early. Still managed to eke out a $9k gain. Lots of option trades in LVS. Took some of my cash from dumping LVS and bought some EWJ Japan ETF - go figure!

Real LifeFFR was level at .20% - it tends to drop a good week or 2 before the market, and it hasn't dropped... FAS is still not doing much... I noticed my IRA hit a new yearly high today! ;D It will be a good time to make a couple moves there I think (a few in mind but need to look some more) Monopoly World / entries tracked real time in the blog Big Cap - I reallocated a bit on the day, slightly red -.1% on mainly CMG & PCLN shorts (surprise!) -covered my BIDU short $107.85 for 4.6%, flat out really lucky trade. 1 entry, 1 exit both within 1% off top and bottom. I should quit with that one while I'm ahead -sold 75% of my PBR 4x long position (had to avg down 3 times on it) for 1.7% -added to my PCLN short @ $378, now a 2.5x long / unrealized -4% on it Now 62% long, 31% short, 7% cash Scalp trades - still no moves, still holding CHK (only -.3% now) and FAS (-1.2%). Been way too long Options Acct - no moves again in there, all cash. Didn't see any good opportunities as I'm fairly torn here as to where we're headed as seen in my Big Cap account (75% of my "net worth")

That bidu trade was top notch. You should have done it for real.

Got out of TNA with solid gains, at 54.08. Too early? Tried to scalp FAS and lost 80 bucks- Confused on what to do next...so, cash overnight.

Picked up 1200 shares of RDN at 8.17 and will ride this for as long as possible and then jump off the train. Next, I will buy a BIDU ticket unless something else interests me...

That bidu trade was top notch. You should have done it for real. The monopoly gains and what I would get in real life are quite similar since my real gains in my IRA in 2010 total less than $200 ;D But then again that is way better than the 20% losses I had not more than 3 months ago!

Congrats Brosin on the paper trade.. I would like to follow (and learn) your trades/strategy.. Will you please consider creating a public portfolio on any free virtual trading site (like vse.marketwatch.com/Game/Homepage.aspx). I know you have tried to update the google spreadsheet but at times that becomes little troublesome to follow. please consider this a low priority request. .. TIA.

Awesome thanks Taj - I just set up one on there so feel free to watch it on there. I'll make the trades on there and then post to the fastopia and the spreadsheet. vse.marketwatch.com/Game/Portfolio.aspx?a=fELre6rryzbIoyIjOI7mGASmpGsZ98QYbSPT3a6ec1Xqwe0NxDrYO979FypNd1vj&g=BigCapGrowthRight now I post the real time cost and price in the Big Cap Growth thread in my blog in the Institute, and then I make the adjustments in the google spreadsheet by taking or adding from the active part and adding to the closed trades portion. I sorted by symbol for my own purposes rather than sort it by timeframe but yeah I can see how it's all a bit hard to follow. The wrap summary is a bear in itself lol In all my accounts i assume 2.5:1 leverage rather than the 2:1 leverage assumed by the one up there, but it wouldn't let me change it so I tried to make it equivalent by starting with 1.25M rather than 1M to get my equivalent buying power of 2.5M Of the 3 strategies, the scalp trade was by far the most dominant fwiw. I just didn't have time to do it as much recently (much more busy at work) - hasn't changed all that much but here's the results of last month; I've done maybe half the trades and gone nowhere but sideways: www.fastopia.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=brosin&thread=8472&post=109561
