I guess there's the Quad Bull. Congrats to everyone who has held on. It's kind of strange what is moving up and what is not. I'm somewhat baffled but also realize some of this is earnings covering. No one wants to pay the divvy because they're short. That would account for much of the index moves. I guess individual stocks may or may not move much depending on their earnings. These opexes going into earnings are always difficult to play, so I agree with caution across the board. No trades today. Hope everyone made some money and will do so tomorrow. I made a huge bet yesterday’s close on aapl. Had 100% of my portfolio in aapl $280 weekly calls, Oct $270 calls, Nov $270 calls, and aapl stock. Needless to say it paid off. Portfolio up 47%.
My only mistake was selling the weekly $270 calls for $5.30 instead of holding them for end of day were I could have sold them for $9.80+. I missed out on a lot of money by not holding them and am now kicking myself in the butt.
Todays trades:
Closed out Weekly, Oct, Nov calls
Bought AAPL Nov $240 calls since Time Premium was only $2 and I think the stock is going higher before Nov Opex.
Bought MVIS. (On Green Arrow Recommendation. We will see if it works out)
Bought CRUS for $17.15 (Didn’t participate in the rally and downside is $16)
Note: Didn’t perform the best as I left $3845 on the table but I was able to change my strat from a very aggressive portfolio to a less aggressive one that will loose less money if the market drops.
My thoughts are that aapl has reversed the short term downtrend and now will continue higher. I bet torr will probabley agree with me.
P.S. Forgot to add that my portfolio is just a little higher than it was 3-5 days ago. Guess that is the reason I took profits on those weekly's so fast.

Taj, didn't know you were playing MON.
I really like that one- had been watching it for awhile from a LT perspective. Their monopoly pricing power makes me think the recent stock plummet will quickly correct in the next 6-12 months.

Well - we didnt get 100 points down - soooo as I said last night all bets are still on. Finally got my quadbull almost. And my prediction of a strong market going into the election still has legs. Scalped some LVS wrote some high strike Oct puts also bought back some low strike Oct puts and replaced them with Nov puts - all for very nice premium. Starting to set up very nicely for me and Oct expiration to be maintenance free. For a change, mutual funds (Japan) should be very strong when they report in a few minutes. I'm thinking overall +$40k for the day.

I had MON Oct options for a week or two..short term play. agreed, long term this stock go up.. as you know, it is down recently due to potential corn issues..

FFR was level today at .20% - yesterday's bullish move in the face of the Red Futures was a strong indicator of what was going to happen today. It is again the divergences that are the most important things to watch there imo. My FAS had a nice day Monopoly world saw some action, more rotational movement than buying or selling: Big Cap Acct saw a couple moves - sells in C $4.14 (7.8% gain) and SIRI $1.29 (5.7%, 2nd go around with it). Adds in CHK $22.38, $22.28 (two adds today, now a 4x long position), GOLD short $105.61 (2nd of 3 pulls on that one, currently a big hedge position w/7.6% loss), and BKE 22.48 (made it a double long position). Overall, account +1.7% and went to 80% invested from 75%. Scalp Trading - 5 green trades, 2 red; sold my FAS $22.05 held overnight from $21.60 for 2.1%, sold my BIDU $99.97 held overnight from $98.64 for 1.4%, day traded BIDU short from $100.80 to $100.41 for +.3%, day traded FAZ from $12.87 to $12.86 for breakeven/slight red, day traded FAS from $22.16 to $22.39 for 1%, day traded FAZ again from $12.70/$12.66/$12.59 to $12.46 for -1.5%, and day traded FAS again from $22.77 to $22.87 for .5%. Bought CHK at the close $22.35, holding overnight. Acct +8.8% on the day, now up 31.2% overall. Options account finally saw some moves - sold my SPY $116 Oct Call position for +58%, opened SPY $118 Oct Call position, short SPY $114 Put position, and SPY $115 Put position (hedge). Account was up 27.6% today thanks to the $116 Oct Calls that were up 109% on the day. I'm slightly green overall in this account now, which I'm happy about. All in all, accounts were up 4.1% today

29% gain (after comm's) on LVS OCT 37 Call day trade...missed the top on them by .05. PCX swing up nicely (6.2%), but I figure I'm may get exercised since I sold the OCT 12 Calls. Remainder of port up a bit, still about 75% cash.

lost about half my port today on AAPL puts.. i call it the curse of the aapl puts.. it is a very mysterous thing, how they always seem to go to crap when the stock is in a huge uptrend.. spooky
And I pick the day before japan has to lower its Fed rate to go major short.. in addition i am torturing myself seeing that i could have doubled my money today just buying in the morning and selling before close..
just need to vent.. I am down but not out.. will be avging into AAPl calls into earnings and daytrading options. Not holding anything big for a while
GL for tomorrow folks
