I overslept today as I was up late last night. I didn't even peak at the market until about 2:30, and just smiled when I saw the Dow down 150. Of course! This was an impulse from the looks of it, and it looks like "other continent sovereign worries" is once again the primary function equation. I don't want to have to pull that old equation out again. Just watching the odd behavior in my FAS diagonal spread... no trades. Fredo, your A VXLX is back to .08 think it'll run again? Doesn't look good. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so on Monday. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

was a good day to be short, though my stock MU didn't move much (% wise)
closed short SOXL position, 600 shares (not 600K) for ~1,000 realized profit covered 40K MU shares at 10.38 shorted 40K again at 9.46
holding 80K short MU position b/e 10.22
At one time my MU position was green, didn't close the position - missed the trigger by 2 cents.. LOD was 10.17; b/e price was 10.17, had trigger at 10.15 with trailing stop of 2 cents.

Well, what do ya know. After 4 days where I basically make enough to pay for my pimpmobile except for taxes and guess what. While I'm battling the markets someone comes along and takes all the hubcaps, the 700 watt sound system and the engine. Painful day, tried an LVS scalp and got burnt on the second one. Wrote some one day options but otherwise watched the carnage all across my portfolio. Down 2% on the portfolio today up 3% for the year.

Whoever coined the phrase "2 out of 3 aint bad..." Should include some fine print explaining that it doesn't hold true if loss #3 was greater than gain #1 and #2. This week was an outright catastrophe on a number of levels. I was within scratching distance of the "halfway mark" on my long term savings goal. (top line in this chart) Funeral expenses for my truck + the hurried purchase of a new POS replacement will likely set me back a few months.. Hopefully the jumbo bearish engulfing bar it'll paint won't lead to a "k__ __v_s_l"

Bought some F JAN 2013 17.5 Calls, a little too early in the day as it turns out, but I have a little time on my side. My PCX buy from yesterday (again, a little early) is slightly green today. Not sure about holding thru earnings on Tues....will see what Monday brings.

Maybe you will get it on a gap down monday P5. With my luck it will drop down and take out my trailing stop and go on down and buy u in and then head back to $80 without me:( But my bud P5 will be riding it up and making a killing so that will be good too.

FFR was level at .17% and remains in 'get your parachutes on watch' territory - this will be one of the things I will watch closest so as to see how intrabank lending is immediately responding to the situation in the Middle East. It has been very weak for the last couple months of equity market strength, and now it will be interesting to see if it continues to grow weaker and whether the equity market would finally begin to confirm it. My FAZ unlost some - I'm hoping to see it move above my $9.02 avg very quickly next week since the hold period on this has been far longer than I had wanted or anticipated when I started the position on 12/23/10. monopoly world Big Cap - eclipsed my best day ever in here by a few $K, finishing the day +7.9% / +$176K, only a couple moves Shorts: SLW @ $30.80 (at the time I hadn't read the memo about the fear trade being back on) (add) NFLX @ $209.35, $211.30 Sells: (1/3) TZA @ $15.61 / +2.9% on that batch, still holding 3x "long" position avg $15.18 unrealized +4.3% I remain 0% long, 100% short scalp trades - no moves, acct +6.6% on the day... maybe FAZ will start coming back to an area where I could sell it at a decent price (even at a loss) All in all, accounts were +7.1% on the day
