I feel strongly that on any strength the rest of the week, you deploy some risk mitigation strategies. My RCL puts did nicely today but I went deeper ITM than I usually do. Still holding. At least for the gap down tomorrow. If not I will slowly exit the position ensuring it stays green. SQNM, what can I say. You make me look brilliant. Thank you. No other trades today, most things are still holding support. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

covered my naked MU short position for 11K realized profit.. Got lucky again..
I was just wondering if I held some of my trades that I made this year, I would be "rich".
shorted LVS at 50.x - trading at 46 long ISPH at 3.5x - trading at 4.3 shorted CENX at 17 - trading at 15.x long SOXL, sold at 52 - was trading at 65..
I need to be patient -- it's an art.. hopefully will learn overtime..

Rough day all around. Completed one successful LVS scalp and then got stuck long with the second one. Bought back my short Jan $49 puts and replaced with short Mar $47 puts - that pulled in $6k in more premium and lowers the strikes by $8k - pretty good strategy IMHO. Caught the CREE falling knife when it was down $8 - we'll see. My MNKD stock dropped $3k before I sold it - still have Feb $10 calls - TDA is marking those at zero - which may turn out correct tomorrow - in which case I'll be slightly ahead on the whole MNKD adventure. Net net down almost 2% on the day - up around 4% for the year.

I need to be patient -- it's an art.. hopefully will learn overtime.. I was just thinking about this the other day. I always pulled the trigger on my winners too early back when I day-traded stocks. One of the nice things about shorting options and letting them expire out of the money is you don't have to worry about getting out too early or too late. You give up that decision in exchange for the option premium, and I was never all that great at choosing my exits anyway. I was always better at choosing my entries, so for me, it's a good deal.

still no trades but I was looking 'for that moment' I'm wary of saying 'this is it' or 'sell sell sell'. the vix hinting at something maybe. it's still opex, surprises may still be in store.

FFR was 'HOLYCOW' bullish from .16% to .19% - these moves are quite rare. On the surface, it shows that maybe lending scares may have been overdone? If that is the case, maybe the market will pop back very quickly; that is of course assuming that it can hold this move. Anyone remaining long would probably want to see it stay up there or even move higher. Given the lack of correlation for at least 8 weeks, I would remain worried and bearish even in that scenario unfortunately. I can't say I know what to make of it; maybe -- as Cos suggested -- it's some sort of trap My FAZ unlost some and starts to work its way back towards even (avg still $9.25). There is a part of me that wishes I had averaged down for a 3rd pull on it, but it is a *****very***** small part of me ;D ;D Some IRA positions like MVIS, PCX, and STEC took big hits, and I am feeling very happy about doing the Cos profit skim last week. Monopoly World - a couple moves for the first time in awhile, but not many Big Cap [/url] - wow what a day, +8.6%... as mentioned in the FFR thread, I went from -$400K in unrealized losses overnight to "only" being down -$230K unrealized. All 15 positions were green and it ranks up there on my best days; that is with The Dow was down 12 points, now there's a ROFL. Smoke and mirrors indeed acct only a few market % off a new high since inception, which is the squid at play since I have been short biased since 1220 SPX Buys: (to cover 15%) LVS @ $46.75 for exactly breakeven on that portion - had to meet a 'margin call' and get my buying power back to positive, still hold 7x short position avg $46.75 unrealized +.7% Shorts: (add) AAPL @ $338.10 near EOD, now 5x short avg $331.10 unrealized -2.3% I am now 3% long, 97% short scalp trades acct - no moves, still holding FAZ into the ground, acct +8.4% options acct - no moves, still holding SPY $126 Jan puts into the ground, acct (what's left of it) +13.5% All in all, very strong day as accts were up +7.6%, one of my better days since starting these 9/7/10

Taj, Other than the fact that there's a 1:1 relation between these warrants and shares I dunno much about them, but here's what my partner thinks about the shares' pps: > > some of you have expressed concern on the dropping CNL stock price from about $9/sh down to about $7.50/sh. This trend from the high of $10.50/sh is due to two factors: 1) people are shorting their stock to take profits at the end of the year which everyone does, and 2) the stock syndicate that bought 12M shares at $5.75/sh back in August had an option for 6M more shares or warrants at $7.50/sh to be activated once the stock got above $9.65/sh, which it has. CNL now has some 97M shares issued, the total subscribed is 101M shares. > > So the stock syndicate has picked up the option on the 6M shares at $7.50/sh and that is why the price is now around that number. > > The fact that the syndicate has picked up the option is viewed as a very good thing since they will be working hard to sell those shares at a premium price to those mutual funds and other investment entities that are buying gold stocks. > > The price on this stock will rise and should reach $13/sh in a few months and possibly could be in the $20/sh range by summer. The latest drilling results totaling some 45,000 meters of core drill have yet to be fully disclosed as an economic resource but should be out in next few months. > > Remember, another 60,000 meters of core drill is in process and this new drilling program seems to be confirming the promise of these large deposits. > > Hang in there,

Got stopped out of SOXL and TYH and UPRO. Still got TNA and ERX and KRU. Id just as soon see more dip big time!! I sure wana buy back waaay cheaper. Maybe I shoulda just canceled my trailers and sold all. But.... If this is just a small dip and I stay in on TNA and ERX and KRU and they keep going up then I made the right decision. If I get stopped out on my remaining 3 and it goes waaay lower and I buy them back lower then I made the right decision. If I get stopped out on them and they all 6 then turn and go higher without me, Im gona be pissed!!!!
