So this is kind of funny in a sort of way. This was during October 2008 when I had 250% return on the month, unfortunately through the wealth destruction of many. Email to my teacher as I had to leave my 8 am CT class to go catch the market open: (For context, I was/am close with this teacher and was in the process of working on some outside stuff with him at this point in the semester, so was pretty comfortable telling him the truth) "Jeff - I will rarely (if ever) use this excuse again, and I always feel rude for leaving class... I think I've mentioned to you that I manage quite a bit of money for me and my 2 brothers. I've actually done amazingly well recently, 100% gains in 10 days (knock on wood), but this morning I was tentatively long equities just in case the market rallied big. Futures were indicating it was possible. ( ;D )Anyways, I had a very uneasy feeling about it - rightfully so - and thought I was much better off going and watching how the first half hour was. So much volatility in that first hour. So yeah I'm sorry for leaving and just wanted to give you an explanation. -Brian"
