Look at Europe! They may be way down because they know something bad is coming out this weekend. I can't imagine recovering too much today! Europe is in recession. USA coming out China never was, just slowing a little. Their continued recession is going to stunt our growth, particularly, if their recession deepens.

What a shame all the Market Makers spent all of their buy programs so frivolously/ recklessly the past few weeks. I'll bet they really wish they had saved a couple for this rainy day. Banks really need to quit trying to reach for new lows, or we are the proverbial toast. The one consolation here is that bank earning reports are typically whipsaw moves, so there's still a small chance for an EOD rally here. Here's hopin'

Hi Crum - if this turns around I may go on protest rampage against those durn banks!! Cussed banks! If they didn't hold so much influence over this market.... Bought some FAS this a.m. on the $99 sale. Too bad I didn't know they were gonna move it to the clearance rack later in the morning Still can't decide whether to keep it or unload it at a small loss.

On the 30 min ES, I see a H&S attempting to form(even though the head is rounded). Anyone else see that?

Frankly FAS could go either way right now. It could bust out and if I bought it this morning I'd be holding for that, but have a tight mental stop. Plus, I would consider if I wanted to be holding going into Monday.

I believe the Bernank is about to take Q&A
CNBC should be televising it shortly

Thanks for the input, Nat. I value your opinion. I'll likely hold til EOD, unless JPM puts in a new low this afternoon. Holding over the weekend? That'll depend on whether or not I've got a decent recovery in it by today's close. Though I think we're nearing a short-term top, I still think the process will require us to retest SPX 1422 before breaking lower. Right now we're just building a new wall of worry to climb.

I wish it wasn't so Nats. I wish market could keep going up forever but sadly it doesn't work that way.
Europe and China news trumps earnings -- as you can see JPM, WFC GOOG didn't help us today

I'm not an options guy, so forgive the naive question: Are there weeklies on the big banks? Seems like someone wants JPM pinned at 43.50 for the close, and WFC at 33. Doesn't bode well for market close.

You were really bugging me with your bearishness this last week or so but now that I had to bail after I won't be happy unless there is a blood in the street low to get back in on!

I got out of a few longs myself but am still EXPOSED....so if/when it corrects 10-15% I'll be hurting believe me. I don't think there's any doubt about it though....it takes a while for a stong bull to roll over (unless it was like Ferdinand playing in the field w/ flowers).

Doesn't bode well for market close. There. Both of those targets just hit almost simultaneously. Now....where from here? I'm amazed FAS isn't down more right here, with most big banks down 3-4% or more. Shenanigans???
