I have never been so disgusted with this market as I have been over the last 2 months. Amen to that Rex. I know what you mean. I have not seen one major bearish pattern actually work on the main indices since the end of November. Even today, IWM had a perfect bear flag form. Nice parallel channel, 38.2% retracement, 2 taps on both top and bottom lines, back test confirmation and then - *POOF* - it failed. This has happened more times than I can count. I even pulled my wife into the room at 2:15p and showed her why it was such a perfect pattern and told her to watch: within the next 15 minutes we would see large green bars popping up to kill the pattern. They were right on cue at 2:26p. (look at the IWM 2 min. chart to see what I mean) So the question is: are there just no sellers to complete these down patterns? Sure seemed that way to me. Volumes were increasing on the down moves up until the pattern confirmed, and then no volume to finish it. Bots had to take it the other way I guess. It's been like this for more than 2 months now. So were either in a record like bull market and no one wants to sell, or big $$ has enough confidence (or control) to wait and sell at exactly the spot of the high and not any lower. I think it's the latter - distribution at exactly where big $$ wants to distribute. But my theory may likely be proven wrong soon here. It's a shame though...if there are no pullbacks to at least fill some of the gaps, the daily volumes will continue to shrink; and those banks and brokerages relying on retail trading revenues will go belly-up IMO.

I hear ya guys. There were a lot of bear flags today. Just be sure to cut and run. Don't be a hero. But... if something is "coming", it's coming soon imo. Look at daily spx, dji, iwm, iyr and.... djt. log scale.

I would say if you must buy long shares you have straddle that with long puts, or at a minimum ATM/NTM short calls.

ES might be trying to form an iH&S on the 10 min. and on the hourly. FYI I seen that as well. IH&S's are usually bottoming patterns though. Having said that, IF it were to play out, target would be approx. 8 pts higher than today's high...
