weird close I see volume but price stuck in neutral Yeah, it's odd, the number of buyers is increasing with the selling. I have a feeling big players are getting out, and tons of retailers are buying up their junk hoping this is a dip.

California To Run Out Of Cash In One Month, Controller Warns Submitted by Tyler Durden on 01/31/2012 - 15:15 If anyone is tired of the daily European soap opera with surrealistic tragicomic overtones, they can simply shift their gaze to the 8th largest economy in the world: the insolvent state of California, whose controller just told legislators has just over a month worth of cash left. From the Sacramento Bee: "California will run out of cash by early March if the state does not take swift action to find $3.3 billion through payment delays and borrowing, according to a letter state Controller John Chiang sent to state lawmakers today. The announcement is surprising since lawmakers previously believed the state had enough cash to last through the fiscal year that ends in June." ....uh, oops? But sure, fix the problem of excess debt by more "borrowing" why not. As for the math: "But Chiang said additional cash management solutions are needed because state tax revenues are $2.6 billion less than what Gov. Jerry Brown and state lawmakers assumed in their optimistic budget last year. Meanwhile, Chiang said, the state is spending $2.6 billion more than state leaders planned on." Quick, someone come up with a plan that involves subsidies and tariffs on China, or something else that deflects from what the source of the problem really is. Because the last thing that anyone in America would want to bring up is this thing called "responsibility" for their actions, or, as in now becoming the default case, the lack thereof. And why do that, when time spent so much more productively scapegoating this, and blaming that for one's own massive errors of judgment. I don't think there'll be panic about this. I read the article in the Sac Bee and it goes on to explain that this will (temporarily) resolve by mid-April, when taxes are due. IMO, the real problem would be if CA couldn't get loans to bridge the shortfalls between now and then.

volume worse than a boiled "shadow of a pigeon that had starved to death" A. Lincoln let me modify - buy volume Elle, www.eco-action.org/dt/pigeon.htmlMany don't realize this but America's westward expansion owes A LOT to North America's native passenger pigeon which served as the mainstay for one's protein diet. They numbered in the billions and were slaughtered into extinction. My Dad flew racing pigeons all his life and he was in-charge of collecting 10,000 birds from NY lofts and liberating them at the Statue of Liberty/Bicentennial celebration....that's a LOT of pigeon guano lemme tell ya.

all kissing, uh kidding aside.
I do not know about Bakersfield, but as one who lives north and goes south as often as possible, there are BAZILLIONS of jobs here. Okay, some may not be especially appealing, but if you are really hungry, you would actually have to "work" very hard at laying around or do a serious amount of drugs on a daily basis to not be successful here. If you graduate - from ANY level of HS, college, art school, tech school - you can make it in California if you are not a deadbeat. Do you know how many guys we have here who make a living beta testing video games?
I mean, c'mon, we have 4 quadrillion actors and they all find "work".

The sun is glinting off the ocean, magnificent! I walked uphill (miles even) today and found a super crap house with one of the most exquisite views in all the world. Must be a drug dealer safe house - then repossessed. You think I'm kidding, but I'm not! There are NO other houses around that look ANYTHING like this house and they sell for 2x the price. I think maybe I buy it, gut it, then hope I can make some $$ to rebuild. There's nothing in the neighborhood even close to the asking price and even then, I'll bet they take anything (kneel on ground, smash piggy bank, counting.....1M, 2M)
Would make a great Fastopia getaway.

You're right, Nat, because it's important to everyone except Californians. Watch movie "Clueless", that's CA, even if you're 65.
I go walk to the beach. Try and figure out if I can make house payment and also gut and rebuild. It's a complete teardown mess.
(Nat, we will talk about art in CA)

seriously, Nat, where will he be living? Here in the East Bay. He also might get certified as a personal trainer & do that while going to school, he's really muscled up right now. He'll possibly go to someplace like the SF Art Academy. He draws action heroes, Disney characters, and girls! That's his thing - he likes the human body.

If he goes to art school make sure he continues to like girls - art schools are famous for being peer-pressure gay joints and SF isn't exactly the "middle of Kansas" in that respect. Have his father ask, "Hey son - ya still like girls, right???" on a periodic basis. LOL!!!
