NL 1 Uru 0. Missed it. Grrr.
If Esp can't get the Germans, I think NL will. They took down Brasil after all.

Murphy - I pointed out last Thursday the simultaneous drop in gold and the dollar, and the fact that both markets had fallen below their 50-day moving averages. I suggested that since both had risen together, it made sense that they should correct together. And they continue to do so. Chart 1 shows the Gold Trust (GLD) down the equivalent of $16 today and heading toward potential chart support near 114. That support is marked by the mid-May low, the January peak, and a five-month rising trendline. Chart 2 shows the Bullish Dollar ETF (UUP) falling again today and nearing a test of a rising seven-month support line. So far, both of these pullbacks appear to be corrective in nature.

This has been a very unusual day in many ways. Tick has been very volatile, bouncing from extreme lows to moderately high highs. We've had 5 ticks at -1400 or lower; we sometimes go more than a week without a single one. Each time, the low tick has been met with a tick +900 to +1100. All of this action is around the PP. Its a battle to regain the falling 5dma or lose the 102.5 S level.

NL is going to the finals. Now 3-1. That's massive. They could take the whole encillada for the first time.

But NL beat Brasil and that is very impressive. I'd like to see them win it all. Breadth ended neg with prices pos.

Have to say Germany looks stronger but Brasil was good as well. Still Germany's pounding of ARG, a team on the same level of Brasil makes me lean Germany over Spain and NL. Still I'm excited for the prospect of any outcome now, I think all the games will be good. Sucks I didn't get to watch any of the game today or the market in the afternoon b/c of meetings. Probably for the best b/c I would have got whipsawed on a day like today.

Carl nailed the day's range again today: 1015-35. Pretty cool. Now let's see him get the bull he wants.
