Still, as the old saying goes, "A squirrel and a coyote may lowe each other, but where would they build a home."

Yes BS - disassociating discussion of politics as it impacts the market is dishonest - they are inextricably interconnected imho. It would help if people on both sides kept it civil and within due bounds I would agree. People come here and people will go for one reason or another: sobeit. ...and I'm going now for some homemade lasagna ;D

In Fastopia? ;D No I like the differences too and I think (?) most would agree - truth often found through discourse among friends of course... it's not the differences but how information is often presented that bothers me. We all have our biases, but when it goes beyond a trading aspect, the board loses some value. As Ask2lern mentioned the other day, if he had come on this weekend for the first time, it would have been his only visit; that is the best way I could've described my own opinion as well. We're getting there though. The board is still very new obviously and there will always be growing pains!

I haven't talked to more than a few people and specifically had people approach me about the subject more than once Must have been in my dreams. You know very well that I'm not talking about dissociating politics and economics (those were my 2 majors!!)... 95% of the political "discussions" have no trading substance whatsoever and are more concerned with taking cheap shots and complaining - and all sides are guilty of it. We all decided to LEAVE the YMBs for exactly those types of things.

I wasn't suggesting you were imagining things; I do, however, think we are in tune insofar as the problem being how each side presents his/her case. There are those here who seem to take great pleasure in being inflammatory in order to evoke a negative response...on BOTH sides. We should all stand up when that takes place and call that person out before things escalate. (Unfortunately Bush's preemptive strike policy is no longer in vogue so we prolly shouldn't consider that as a viable option.)

Here here Jack. I think I can sum up what I'm trying to say in one sentence (this is probably the thing I am the worst at): the intelligence level of Fastopians warrants more intelligent discourse than 'this *** ** *** **** needs to get off his *** and do something!' or 'Obama doesn't know what the **** he's doing - he hates America and is a ** *** ****.' Right? I think we owe that to everyone who is already here and the members who are not yet here. We can't expect to grow membership and interest here if we act like unintelligible five year olds. We all found eachother in the rubble pile of 5 year olds, but let's not make other people do that here when they come for the first time. They'll end up all just staying on the YMBs where they are used to going... ok so that was a *few sentences*

My trading performance this year certifies that in spades.

I remembered posts from wiley and mikey from earlier, so thot I'd check them out and see waht happened......but they're gone. And the only change I can make out is taht I came on the board. I thot at least this thread was clean of politics, but I was joking that people would actually go because of someone with different opinions. I have always been proud to be in the political party that was started to keep slavery from spreading into the territories after democrats passed KN Act, that reintegrated the army after it was segregated in the early 1900's by Wilson, that proposed civil rights legislation under Eisenhower which was not passed due to opposition from the democrat party led by then Speaker of the House Lyndon Johnson because of a provision that would integrate the schools, that was the party of blacks including MLK's father until a deal was cut in the 1960's for votes and proud to have left that party when it strayed from it's principles of smaller gov't and fiscal responsibility despite pleas from the WH and warnings that housing would implode if they continued. I always try to discuss facts, only facts and I'll even try and talk with someone calling names. Perhaps there is no room for any opposing views on PPDT, so I 'm going in hopes they return - albeit not quietly Ellecatt signing off.

Truly I am sorry to hear that. But in regard to those claiming they've seen you in the bullish camp, I present y'all with irrefutable evidence: That is you there on the right, is it not??? (btw those are Chicago stockyards)
