I said baby bull for today and missed by a mile. Ah well. Market action decidedly down on some morning numbers - whether an excuse or technical drop who knows. Bond action shows there could still be a little more downside. I added some FAZ short today in preparation for shorting some puts. Also added some IMGG at .58. Still holding URE position with covered calls sold as a hedge. Cos's Farmville had a bumper crop of strawberries. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Regulars, please post your results and smiley yourself ;D Final RIFIN and bond chart for today: (11/6/10: Cosmic, I modified the date here - it showed "2/3/10" at first)

The market was in need of a pullback and how conveniently it is concident with the poor consumer confident numbers.
The T-bond futures freaked. It shot up to 118 and closed just below that level.
The VIX popped early in the session and pulsed sideway most of the session.
Like VIX, the A/D popped and trended sideway; it closed 5 : 2.2 in favor of the decliners.
Opened FAZ Apr 21 and 20 calls. Closed 1/6 position in FAS Mar 70 calls for 6.40. Added to FAS Mar 65 puts for 2.25. Opened URE Mar 6 puts for .12.
With VIX up 7.2%, gave back 2.3% on the day.

Baby bear was not enough - I should've been a grizzly. Will be a bull for tomorrow.
A suggestion (that I had already considered in the past) was made to me by a friend in that I should trade APWR exclusively and not worry about trading other stocks as well.
I'm going to give it a try. Sold my SQNM (.18/3% loss) and UNG (.30/3% loss) and purchased more APWR at $13.37, $13.51, and $13.55 - that late day squeeze was interesting. Light volume today relatively for APWR, so it tells me that shorts were not covering in any sizeable way (except for that one pop late day).
Think the market is either at or near the bottom for this small correction. From here I think we continue the climb for SPX 1200. Might see some weakness tomorrow early on, in which case that should be the bottom.
Holding APWR/IMGG/MSBT. Watching IMGG for a potential re-entry for a full position (about 10x what I own now) as I can try to gain back my realized (but Wash Sale capable) losses after I sold at .66.

T4D, If I understand well, you plan to buy 77,000 shares out, and when there is no more to buy, you'll offer them for sale at $6 to $12?
Still learning, thanks!

Covered my FAZ short this morning for a decent gain and now riding my FAS shorts, hedgeless I might add, besides my BAC and TBT positions. Picked up some March 1065 Gold puts as well today. Trend will be down the rest of the week. FAS back into the $60's.

Purchased 2200 shares MVIS on downdraft today at 2.25 in RIRA (missed the low while meeting with FDIC examiner- what fun). Holding 85196 shares MVIS avg 2.386 and 1900 LVS shares. Not real inclined to purchase any more stock right now except for FAS and Citi which are tempting me tonight. GL all.

Still holding FAZ calls. May lose them in the morning, depending on the action. Speaking of which, it looked weak towards the end of day.
Carry over into tomorrow? Maybe.
If not, I will take a long position and let the channel play out.

Torrentio - No you didn't!! lol Brosin - $1 Bernake Buck bet that FAS closes below $70 by end of week? You're on my friend. Actually, sorry dude, don't mean to take it back. Was just adding it to the "showdown" thread, and realized you didn't word it how I thought. I would bet that FAS doesn't close below $70 AT the end of the week (Fri close), but I won't bet that it doesn't close below $70 any of the days this week. Mainly because I'm not more than 50/50 sure that it'll close over $70 tomorrow. Would you change the bet to say that FAS closes below 70 *at* the end of the week?

Brosin - If FAS closes below $70 anyday from tomorrow thru Friday close.. What are you chicken now? lol ;D You're not going to goad me into this. $1.37 is only 2%. That'd be a terrible bet! I definitely think FAS will go under $70 tomorrow. It's all a matter of whether it will close there. I'm betting on a reversal to green on everything by EOD. I don't, however, think FAS will close anywhere near $69.99 or lower Thursday or Friday. So - compromise - let's make that the bet?
