Haven't heard from Cos, but I'm guessing I should fill in. Quite the divergence today between the NAS and the DJI/SPX. That is something we would all want to watch; as Cosmic has pointed out in the past, this should tighten one way or another (NAS catching up or DJI/SPX breaking down as followers). Another noteworthy move was seen in the VIX at the EOD. Is this a sign of things to come for the remainder of the week? Given the FFR action, and the lack of any meaningfull pullback today despite the massive rally yesterday, I would still argue that bulls are firmly in control and that the explosion of poupon that I was expecting today has been postponed until tomorrow or Friday. Hope everyone made some money and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Did quite a bit of scalping of LVS this morning - then got whipsawed (which means my scalping LOST money) as the stock dove. Mutual funds helped a bit - net net down $7k for the day.

No trades. Waiting and watching to add to Bidu & LVS.
Noticing how when Cos lays low, the Gapper also seems to be "out of action." Hmmm... I'm not saying anything, I'm just saying. I'll let you all come to your own conclusions. ;D

Timber-- I thought that was TEF?!?!? Now I'm confused. That could be Cos with a wig, no? Notice the nail polish matches the hair band. Nice touch Cos.
PS-- Sorry Bros.

bites of MVIS today at 2.07 2.02 - will I ever learn?
Two purchases of VMW today at 76.54 7 76.58. Nice pullback on the stock and maybe due to cloud sector pullback, but looked like a good buy to me on VMW.
I bought the news on the TIVO patent decision, that is non-appealable by dish network/Echostar, upholding their Time Warp DVR patent. I believe this ruling is also a patent cited in a similar suit against AT&T and Verizon.
On the prelim ruling i think back in march the stock popped to $17/$18 range, but they had a new set-top box going on, and they have since been losing subscribers. So i'm not sure the stock will spike - it certainly was not met with the same enthusiasm yet it's a final decision and the announcement came late in the trading day. I established a position today, after the pop at an average price of 10.21, buying some at 10.08 in aftermarket.

No trades today, watched PCX jump almost 6%, which I can't claim as a gain since I sold $12 OCT covered calls. If I get exercised, still ahead vs. buying back the calls (by a little bit). Watched LVS for an option trade, did not have the conviction to buy either side of the trade.

I'm alive guys and gals. Been very busy with work and no time to trade lately. I have been watching and I have many things to say but not enough time to post right now. All I can say is that the 10 yr yield finally closed on lower low and is at levels not seen in a long time. I don't think we see a sustained bull rally here as long as the 10 yr is sub 2.4% personally and you have gold and silver hitting all times highs daily. A falling and useless dollar will cause everything to fall in on itself eventually. Just make sure you're not standing in the middle of it all when it does because it won't be pretty. I guess we have to look forward to a socialist society with government owning everything so good luck. I've been applying to government and state jobs lately as I want in on the $$. I can't believe this site I found on the amounts that many state/fed public officials and public service workers make. Sickening! redtape.msnbc.com/2010/10/20-government-workers-with-super-sized-pay.htmlMy Dad was right by saying this is the 1st time in the history of the US that public sectors makes more and has richer benefits than the private sector. Makes you think for sure. If that's where we are headed then I am in the wrong business. lol GL and keep up the good work! Go Gold! My December calls are on fire my friends. -Commodityy

One trade
closed MON combo options for a very nice gain % wise...
Still holding short CENX and long ATEC position..
AA reports tomorrow after bell... I will try to protect my short CENX position... long Call 14, sell put 12 for 10 cents or so looks like a decent hedge.. It depends on the market condition...

Not much on the real life front - FFR was level, FAS still holding its gains. Big Cap red by -.7% on the day - no moves, 80% invested Scalp Trades Acct was pretty slow day as I never got the strong up move I expected - sold large CHK position held overnight for .5%, bought some BIDU, FAS, and CHK - currently -1.5%, -.5%, and -.3% respectively. -.8% on the day options accountBig day here as I started playing in the Apple weeklies. Even on a no movement day, I can see how fast these move. Bought the Apple $280s for $7 & $6.65 within 2 minutes of eachother, sold them 45 min later for 42% @ $9.50, bought them again @ $8.40, $7.80, and $8.60 - sold all for 16% @ $9.60. Also day traded the CRM options thanks to Tracy's mention of it - made 40% long the $95 calls, and 40% short the $105 puts. Also closed out a previous short SPY $114 Oct puts for 10%. 2 moves at EOD were adding to my SPY $118 Oct calls, and purchasing the Apple $280 weeklies. I had a lot of fun with these, but I'm sure it won't be as fun on the other side of the move. It is already a great learning experience either way though - I highly suggest someone do it even if for just a few days. This acct +38% on the day All monopoly accounts combined +.8% on the day
