Market held most of the day but just sort of gave up towards the end. Another whiffle day for most options, surprising for this early on in the cycle. I bought a few FAS 30 Mar calls, and shorted a few FAS 31 Feb calls. We'll see how this spread works out. No other trades. Hope everyone made some money today and will do so tomorrow. Members, please post your results along with your RDA of smileys!

Got sidetracked by the snowstorm...lost power from 6pm last nite till this aft....got a tad chilly last nite and the ol 11yr old samoyed ain't jumping up on the bed anymore so we couldn't even call it a "one dog nite!" Some damage on the house (tree limb coming down took the ol tele line w/ it and tore right out of the ext studs along w/ several lengths of vinyl siding...needles to say some tree damage from the weight of the snow too. Fookin' bigass snowblower's drivetrain wouldn't engage so I'm sorer'n sh_t from all the shovellin'...which is why I soaked in the hottub (attached a few shots of my 80-100' white oaks at dusk from that vantage pt) - life is good. ;D

Hell, we had thunderstorms down here in the 'Burg yesterday afternoon.

I saw in the WP this a.m. that there were some treacherous commutes yesterday in DC. And, BTW, I just go to the WP online for their comics....they have Zippy and Lio

Aside from being cold it hasn't been that bad up here. The most snow we've had is maybe 6 inches.
damn, the bots probably heard that and now we're going to get slammed.

Rich: funny story In 1983 on Memorial Day weekend I drove down to the area for the new yob in the 914. Crossing the Potomac on the Wilson Bridge, the engine mounts failed and the 914's engine fell halfway down to the pavement. Somehow I still had the drivetrain and limped into Alexandria to where I was staying. The next day I found a dealer and ordered new mounts...installed them myself and the rest is...history. I've often wondered if the fates were trying to tell me something about making this place my home. LOL!!!

Thx u = uranium You can check the price of uranium at www.uxc.com/It is fixed once a week on Tuesday pm. It made quite a run a few years ago, which was blamed on speculators. At the time the word was that speculators couldn't jump into the futures since it took a special license to buy uranium futures. The requirement was that a buyer be able to take delivery if the contract expired while holding it. Which required someone with a licensed facility to handle the stuff. Not to mention government security regulations. Still don't know how speculation entered into it. Keeping an eye on it for another surge. I think it depends on how much media attention it gets. I don't watch cnbc, or bloomberg, just rely on the charts. javascript:add('%20 %20')

Absolutely horrible day in every way imaginable. My Truck finally died for good @ ~214,970 miles. It passed away peacefully at idle while in the parking lot @ work - ended up having to walk about 14 miles to rent a car just so I could get home.

Thanks Bullo. Forgot to tell that Im still holding my QPSA and it made 15.59% today!!! Love me sum Latin facebook!! All cash except for QPSA. Not sure what to bail off into now. Was just comparison charting my usual suspects and FAS and UPRO are only up about 4.7% over the past week. TNA 6.28% in a week. ERX and TYH are up 7.45%. DRN up 11.3% And SOXL is the winner at 12.3%.
So..... not wanting to pick the slowest horse in the race but want something that still has room to hit its stride for a few days worth of good pop, uh... Crap I dont know yet. LOL

Sorry to hear PH...sounds like not even one more wire coat hanger might fix it this time. But in retro its better than the way a PhD physicist bud of mine's truck went out at Brookhaven Nat'l Lab: it started up on its own in the parking lot...somehow in gear...and proceeded to smack into another car and EXPLODED - no sh_t.
